3rd person pov:

The white haired male trudged to his room, ignoring the worried gazes of his younger brother as he slammed the door shut. He locked the door and sat on his bed, the soft and comfortable mattress provided no comfort for the male. He held his head in his hands and sighed profusely, mumbling words of hatred as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Nemi, are you okay?" A male voice asked behind the door, his voice was laced with concern ane his eye brows were knitted into a frown.

"Nemi. Are you okay??" The man asked again, yet he was only replied with silence. Genya cursed under his breath and anxiety gripped his heart. His older brother, shinazugawa sanemi, was having another depressive phase. It was a phase where sanemi would ignore everyone and lock himself in his own room, effectively isolating himself from everyone to deal with his own thoughts. His phases has been getting more frequent as of lately and genya normally would have been able to help his brother through the phases, but seeing how bad today's phase was, it doesn't seem possible for him to help his brother through it. Their mom and sibling's death anniversary was just around the corner so this phase was more intense than the previous ones. Genya grabbed his phone and dialed a familiar number, bitting his lip as he paced anxiously around the room while he waited for the receiver to pick up.

"Fuck" genya cursed when the call was placed to a voicemail. He fumbled for his keys and bolted out of the house, sprinting down the streets as he ran to the building a few blocks away from his apartment.

The ravenette raised a concerned eyebrow when he heard furious pounding on his front door. He sat down his book and made his way towards the front door, each step was light and it carried a dignified yet humble sense with it. He opened the door, revealing a familiar male who was panting heavily as he struggled to make out words.

"Did something happen?"

"Its, its sanemi" genya gulped.

The ravenette widened his eyes and cursed under his breath. He darted out of his house, stumbling as the poorly worn shoes almost made him trip over his feet. Genya followed behind the ravenette, struggling to catch up with the insane speed of the athletic ravenette.

Sanemi sat on the bed. He could feel himself falling deeper into the hellish hole he desparately tried to escape from, he could feel coldness engulfing him and spewing words of self hatred at him. He tried to push the thoughts away but they crawled back into his mind, living inside his head rent free as it attempted to destroy sanemi's will to live. He heard the jangling of keys Infront of his door and it was slammed open. He felt arms wrap around his back and he was pulled into a warm embrace, a faint fragrance of the salty smell of the ocean water calmed his nerves.

"Yuu" he mumbled out, burrying his face into the warmth which enveloped him. Giyuu sat on the bed and layed sanemi's head on his lap, rubbing circles on the latter as he hummed the song that they sang together in their past life. His lover snuggled deeper into the ravenette's stomach, relishing the warmth which melted away the glaciers which encased his heart.

"Nemi, are you okay?"

"dont kno' "sanemi mumbled, unsure of his own feelings which were scrambled in the turmoil of depression.

"Nemi, it's okay, it isn't your fault"

"I know but..."

"Nemi, it never was and never will be your fault" giyuu spoke. He played with sanemi's hair, fiddling with the ends and twirling it around his finger, "their death wasn't your fault, nemi. It was your dad, he was drunk driving"

"I know but I should have been the one to drive"

"You're father threatened to disown you if you disobeyed him, nemi"

"I know-"

"Nemi, its not your fault. Ever." The ravenette reaffirmed. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on sanemi's cheek, ruffling with the latter's hair as he hummed the song on repeat. The white-haired male gradually calmed down, his breathing became more stable and his eyes were dry.

"I'm surprised you still remembered the song" sanemi mumbled, smiling softly into the ravenette's stomach.

"Of course I would"

"Its been a long time since we last sung it"

"Yeah," giyuu giggle, "I remember the last time we sung it was when we were still demon slayers"

"Yeah"

"I actually quite like the song"

"Really? It was just some random ass song I made up on the spot"

"Yeah, I remember you singing it to me when I had panic attacks after eating"

"You scared the shit outta me back then"

"Sorry"

"Don't apologise Birdbrain"

" 'kay" giyuu smiled and traced sanemi's scars.

"I'm glad you're here" the latter muttered, "thanks for comforting me"

"Your welcome"

"You really picked up my comforting technique, huh"

"You comforted me a lot in our past life"

"True" sanemi huffed out a smile and chuckled. He tapped on giyuu's back, gentily drawing shaped which resembled a sword and demons.

"Nemi, it isn't your fault your parents died"

"Mm yeah" sanemi sighed.

"Nemi, look at me"

The male turned his head and stared at the ravenette. The latter's eyes were filled with love and sincerity. The sapphire hue sparkled like crystal gems in a dark cave, his long eyelashes were curved upwards, enhancing the beauty he held within.

"I love you, yuu"

"I love you too" giyuu replied softly, twirling the ends of sanemi hair. The couple sat in the room in comfortable silence, neither spoke nor moved an inch. They cuddled against each other, embracing the latter at their firey love chased away their demons.
