"Hey birthday boy!" Addie exclaimed as he answered her FaceTime.
"Addddie! Hey!" Jacob grinned.
"Happy birthday to you!"
"Thank you thank you. I've never had someone wish me a happy birthday multiple times, in multiple forms, in one day. You've got to have broken a record."
Addie chuckled, "I just care about you alright? Everyone's gotta know that you're my best friend."
Jacob smiled slightly, "Fair enough, Adeline."
"So, how has your birthday been?"
"Oh, it's been alright. Actually, it's been a busy day and frankly, I'm exhausted."
"Get any good presents?"
"Meh, same old, same old."
"Same old?" Addie asked, gasping.
Jacob chuckled, "I didn't open yours yet because I knew you'd call."
"Well, you'd better open it now while I'm still on break." Addie said as she looked up, meeting eyes with Mads across the set.
"Alright alright, calm down woman." Jacob said as he got himself situated in front of the camera, "May I?"
"Of course."
Addie watched as he opened it. She hadn't gotten him anything big, nor out of the ordinary, but it was something she knew he would like.
"Ah, Addie! Shit, you're amazing, girl." Jacob chuckled as he held up his first gift.
A new watch.
His old one broke last week, and she somehow got him to put off buying a new one.
