"Everything okay between you guys?" Martha asks as we make breakfast.
"Other than the obvious, yeah, we're great. He's good to me, always has been." I tell her. "Why are you looking at me like you just won the lotto?"
"I'm just so happy for you, Brianna. The both of you. Jonathan would be too. He is." She nods. "He loved you so much." She pushes some hair over my shoulder.
"And he never made me forget it. I love him too." I slowly nod. "Sometimes, uh, sometimes I swear he's sitting at the table watching me and Kent argue about what movie we're gonna watch after dinner, or whenever we argue over something stupid and he makes it up with a movie reference joke and flowers."
"He always wanted to make sure you were okay and that you were safe. And I feel like he's always watching too. Like he's still here."
"He is, Martha. He's here. He'll always will be. I'm just...sorry."
"For what?"
"For not...for not being with Clark sooner. Cause now Jon can't see us-"
"No, no, Brianna." She holds my hands. "It's like you said. He's always watching. He's here. He always will be."
"Mom?" Clark enters the kitchen.
"Hi, sweetheart." Martha hugs him.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yes, everything is fine. I just missed you. Thought I'd stop by. Check in."
"So that's where you snuck off to."
"We were running low on, well, everything." I put the box of pancake mix back in the cabinet.
"I could've of went. Why didn't you wake me?" Clark walks over and wraps a single arm around me.
"Cause I shop a little faster than you. And you're kinda cute when you're asleep. Brows furrowed and whatnot. All you need is a thought bubble up there." I look up at his head before flipping the pancake up in the air, then getting it to land on the plate. "Good morning." I hold the plate out to him.
"How is possible that you're up looking this good?"
"Because you're still half asleep."
"No." He shakes his head. "I'm wide awake." He gazes at me.
I kiss him, making him cup my face. "That was pretty good." I hand him plate and kiss him again. "I have to leave soon."
"Take me with you." He kisses me.
"You wanna spend three hours at the mall with me, Selina and Chloe?"
