       The Phoenix: Fall Out Boy

"Chloe." I head over to her, Clark and Miles. "Lois called me. Are you okay?" I place my hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, thanks for coming. Sorry about being the invisible best friend lately." Chloe tells me.

"That goes both ways, it's fine."

"No, it's not. You take the time out of your crime fighting days to come down here and I don't do the same for you."

"For a reason." I raise my eyebrows.

"Where have you been anyway?" Miles questions as we walk down the hallway and I shake hands with the new doctors I hired since I reconstructed Metropolis General.

"Um, Watchtower." Chloe chuckles. "Just when I thought I'd hit my fill of, uh, high-maintenance men, I take a job from Oliver."

"I thought he was off the grid." Clark speaks up and we head out through a pair of doors before I adjust my holster around my waist.

"He's in Syria, sort of incommunicado with the rest of the world, which is why I'm glad you're here. My laptop was in my backseat when the carjacker peeled away." She presses the top button on the elevator. "I've been using it to update my Watchtower databases from home."

"Chloe, those files contain details nearly every operation." I inquire.

"Hence the panicky flare with everything I've been saying. And before you bite my head off, I admit, I know, I never should have taken it home."

"You think?" I snap before signing. "Okay, just—just tell me it was encrypted."

"But not un-hackable."

"Okay, I'll find your computer. Did you get a good look at the mugger?" I cross my arms.

"I got a good look at the asphalt after he hit me. But there was another witness. When I came to in the ambulance, Lois was raving about some mysterious heroine who swept in and saved the day...Stiletto?"

"Must be some kind of knife expert. Where is Lois, anyway?" Miles looks around and the elevator doors open.

"There may be a new superhero in town. Where do you think she is?" Chloe heads inside and the doors close.

"Where's Margo?" I turn.

"She's in Jersey with her parents. I didn't call because I didn't wanna alarm her." Miles tells me.

"Good call for once." I walk past him and fix the sleeve of my t-shirt.

I head to the front desk and greet Nurse Aaliyah. I take the papers, pen and clipboard from her and start looking through them. I go to sign off tax form, but no ink comes out of the pen. I shake it and go to write again, but there's still no ink. I toss the pen in the garbage and then look up as Clark holds one out to me.
