    Battlefield: SVRCINA

"Did you try the power switch?" I swing into the room before landing on my feet. "Hi."

"Hi." Clark kisses me while cupping my face.

"Didn't you see my texts? I lost Oliver." Chloe turns to me. "He was tracking some armed men, followed them under the monorail, and then it was like a massive mute button went on. No radio, no beacon, nothing."

"I'm sure it's fine. Just because he doesn't check in-"

"You know, unlike some people, Oliver actually follows protocol."

"What protocol?"

"Exactly. He and everyone else dial in with Watchtower while they're on patrol. Clark, you spend so much time watching everybody else's back, you forget that we need to watch each other's backs too."

"Well, this isn't about us."

"Did you check the local security cameras?" I question.

"Every surveillance feed is down. ATMs, traffic lights, convenience stores. It's like someone threw a big blanket over the whole area." Chloe tells me. "You got them back." She softly grins.

"They were never really gone." I tell her before I whip around to see the cameras back on.

"You fixed it." Clark inquires.

"Or whoever did this finished what they started." Chloe walks over to the cameras and clicks on a frame.

"Where is that?"

"That's where I saw Oliver last." She zooms in on the figure in the frame. "John Jones?"

"Well, your buddy system works." I quirk up.

"I didn't call him." She shakes her head and I shoot a web before swinging out through the roof, now landing in front of John.

"Brianna." John turns to me before I hear a whoosh from behind. "Clark. What are you doing here?"

"Looking for any sign of Oliver." I tell him and his face drops. "You didn't know he was missing." I nod. "After coming back from Gotham, he was here on patrol when Watchtower lost contact."

"Well, I'm here on police business. But I'll keep an eye out."

"It'll be faster if we work together." Clark suggests.

"Unless you've already found something." The hair on the back of my neck sticks up.

"You need to trust me." John says.

"It's not about trust, John." I shake my head before looking at his jacket pocket. "What do you know?"

"You shouldn't have done that, Clark." He shoots up into the sky.
