"Brianna." Lex gets up from his desk as I enter his study.
"Relax." I scoff and fold my hands behind my back before walking over to his bookshelf. "I'm not gonna arrest you for what you did to Miles. You have all the money in the world to make it go away. And I'm not even a cop anymore, so..."
"What happened?"
"Just finally stopped tying that noose around my neck before I jumped off that ledge." I look up at the book case further.
"Did somebody hurt you? Was it Clark?"
"You almost sound like you care." I chuckle.
"I do." Lex walks over to me. "I care about you very much, Brianna."
"Let's put that to the test." I nod. "Let's say you saw me use any type of abilities on those little cameras of yours. What would you have done with the footage?"
"Destroyed it."
"Really?" I raise my eyebrows.
"Yes." Lex tells me. "What I did was wrong. I betrayed you. I lost your trust and broke up our friendship. I just couldn't comprehend how you could still stand tall after everything you've been through. Cause the truth is, I've never met anyone like you, Brianna. I've never known someone so strong."
"Is that why you're still drinking water instead of scotch?" I look at the bottles of sparkling water on the tray in the corner.
"Yes." He nods. "Ever since you showed me another way after I was drugged and sent to the asylum. You took the glass out of my hand and told me I didn't have to. So I didn't. And it just got easier day by day. I haven't had a drink since then. Not even champagne at my wedding. And it was because of you, Brianna. You showed me that there is light at the end of the tunnel."
"But your darkness beat it, didn't it?"
"What I did to Miles-"
"Save the apology. Because we both know you're not sorry. I know you want him dead. I can see it in your eyes." I rasp out.
"That's not true. I know Miles wasn't himself that night. And I was acting in self defense, but Miles is important to you. He's your best friend. And I'm sorry I did that to you."
"He's not my best friend, he's my brother. Something you'll never be." I grab Lex before throwing him all the way back and he rolls over his desk before hitting the floor.
"Ah." Lex grunts and I quickly shoot a web at the ceiling before taking a leap, now landing harshly onto the desk. "Brianna." He pants.
"No!" I jump down before bending my knees, then fisting his shirt again. "Never wound what you can't kill." I smile.
