"Okay, guys. It could be any minute now." P3 calls out.
"Yup. Almost done." I web the cures to the scaffolding to secure them. "You know, Max was, like...the sweetest guy ever. Before he fell into a...pool of electric eels."
"He was sweet." Parker nods.
"That'll do it." Peter tells us before leaning against a nearby steel bar.
"I wouldn't change anything though." I shake my head.
"No?"
"No. Everything happens for a reason. I was meant to go through that with Max. It was part of my journey. Who I am, who I'm meant to be." I nod.
"Like Gwen?" Parker questions. "You still listen to her speech?"
"Every day, Parker. Every day." I rasp out.
"I want you to know that I never blamed you. And it's not your fault. You know that, right?"
"I do." I nod. "And I want you to know that's it's not your fault either."
"Brianna-"
"Gwen dying was part of your journey. It made you evolve, it made you realize that what you have is a gift and a curse. You can't save everybody. And it took me a long time to accept that."
"And there it goes." Peter starts stretching.
"You okay?" I chuckle.
"It's just...my back. It's kind of stiff from all the...swinging, I guess."
"Oh, yeah, no, I got a middle back pain, too." Parker says.
"Really?" Peter raises his eyebrows.
"Yeah. You want me to crack it?"
"Yeah. That would be great."
"You ready?" Parker cracks Peter's back.
"Yeah."
"That's good." Peter exhales.
"How is it?"
"Wow. That's good."
"Right?"
"That's better. Yeah. Wow."
"God, this is so cool. I always wanted brothers. And a sister. We should do this again, like, all hangout."
"Yeah." I nod.
"It's nice." Peter agrees.
"But, you know, maybe we should focus on not getting killed tonight."
