"Hi." Clark whispers as he leans his chin on my shoulder while I hug my knees to my chest.
"Hi." I reply and my eyes start to water.
"Hey. What's the matter? What's wrong?" He gently turns my head to face him.
"I won't let them take you away from me. I won't let Zod take you away." I shake my head and he pulls me onto his lap.
"Listen to me." He rubs my hips with his thumbs and I sniffle. "Nothing and one can ever take me away from you. I'm not going anywhere, I promise."
"No, no. You can't promise something like that. You can't—" I gasp as he flips us over, now in between my legs.
"I just did." Clark whispers before kissing me and I give in, now kissing him back. "I promise. I'm not going anywhere. I'll figure it out. Everything is going to be okay." He swipes his nose against mine.
"I love you." I shakily whisper.
"Don't." He warns. "Don't say it like that."
"Say it like what? I'm-"
"Don't." He cups my face before kissing me.
"Don't what? I just want you to know I love-"
"No, you know what I'm talking about. Don't say it like that. Nothing's gonna happen to me. I'm here. Right here." He keeps kissing me while rubbing my cheek with his thumb. "I'm right here, my love."

"What are you gonna do, kid?" Harvey asks as I stare at Lee through the door.
"What can I do?" I rasp out.
"The back door's just down that hallway right there."
"I'm not letting her go, Harvey."
"Why not? We're the only ones here. And I'm really good at looking the other way."
"Not this time. She robbed a dirty bank."
"People get away with a lot worse in Gotham every day."
"Doesn't make it right."
"We got away with worse. The three of us."
"Get out of here." Dad speaks up.
"What?" Harvey says.
"I don't need my crap thrown her my face right now. Get out of here." He orders and Harvey walks off.
