Pray For Me: The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar

"Brianna, we're going against traffic." Clark says as we walk down the block.

"That's sort of the point here, Kent. Try and keep up." I tell him.

"These glasses are driving me crazy."

"So you've said."

"And this jacket—it's not helping."

"Okay, you were the one who chose to take his hero game public, so either The Blur starts wearing a mask or..."

"Clark Kent does. I know."

"Your words, not mine."

"Look." Clark takes off the glasses. "After all the hero hating of the VRA, if The Blur doesn't show his face soon, people are gonna stop trusting me again."

"That didn't stop the Mayor from offering The Blur the key to the city. And Ghost Spider." I hold up the newspaper.

"Yeah, but that's-"

"Yeah, but before that handsome hero face ends up on JumboTron screens in all your red-and-blue glory, we need to make sure that there is nothing handsome or heroic about Clark Kent."

"And that's supposed to help?"

"Yes!" I raise my eyebrows. "So, just...I don't know, slope your shoulders a little bit, speak a little softer, and stop being so...so..."

"What?"

"Great." I hit his chest before sighing. "Babe, you need to be invisible and forgettable and...exactly like that." I look at the guy struggling to open the map before his books fall out of his bag. "What is it?"

"Brianna, I was like that, in Smallville." Clark turns to me.

"Yeah, I know. I was there." I cross my arms with a grin and he shakes his head.

"The thought of going back to that, I..."

"Clark, the real you can burn holes through buildings with a look and lift a freight train with one finger." I punch his arm. "Get over it."

"You know, the last thing you should be worried about is teaching me mild-mannered 101. You should be in Quantico."

"It's a good thing my team and I are off for the next two days. These need to stay on." I put his glasses back on. "Just work on it." I kiss his jaw before I turn and walk down the block.

"Hey. Guys! Wait!" The boy who dropped his books calls out as he runs after the bus.

He crosses the street and I see him fall. A car now speeds towards him and a man dressed in gold blocks him from getting hit, making the car stop. I run over to the scene and the man helps the boy up.
