Roadside: Rise Against

I shoot up from my bed as my burner phone vibrates in my nightstand drawer. "Lana." I whisper. I open my drawer and grab the phone, now answering it.

"I think someone's in the mansion. Please help me." Lana cries and I hang up before leaving my bed.

               ──────✧❅✦❅✧──────

"Hands up!" A voice shouts as I swing through the already opened window.

"No, no, don't shoot!" Lana tells the guard.

"It's okay, it's alright." Lex nods at his guards.

"Ghost?" One guard questions as he lowers his gun.

"Did you see anyone one your way here?" Lana walks towards me and I shake my head.

"Check the roof and initiate a full perimeter sweep of the grounds one more time." Lex tells his guards and I stop them.

I now shoot a web and swing back out the window. I circle around the house and look through every room from the glass widows. After a few minutes, I swing back into the main room before nodding my head at Lana.

"Lana...what did this guy look like?" Lex asks.

"I-I don't know." Lana replies. "I didn't see him, but...I could, uh, just sense that there was someone in the room with me. C-Could you close the window?" She requests and I shoot a web at the window and close it with electrical webs covering it. "Thank you." She now hugs me.

"So you didn't actually see or hear anyone?"

"No."

"With the press tracking our every move, it's easy to get a little paranoid."

"Maybe you're right." Lana puts her phone down and I furrow my eyebrows through my mask. "Maybe I just imagined the whole thing. I'm so sorry you came all this way." She turns to me.

"Why not go downstairs? Get some tea to calm your nerves." Lex tells her.

I send Lex a nod before I grab Lana. I shoot a web and she wraps her arms around my neck. I swing us out of the room and we swiftly glide over the stairs. I now land us in the living room. I send Lana a nod before I turn to the opened window in the ceiling.

"Wait." Lana turns me back around. "There was someone in the room with me." She shows me a photo of her on her phone. "I don't who it is. Can you help me, please?" Her voice strains as she holds out her phone to me and I quickly take it before turning back.
