chapter 6

Delaney pov
"So want to tell me why you're so happy, aside from the win" Christian smiled and nudged me.
"Charles asked me on a date" I replied as I blushed
"No way THE Charles leclerc likes you" he laughed
"You're mean" I pouted
"I'm just messing with you, so are you going go?" He replied hugging me
"Duh. Actually I'll just text him now" I said pulling my phone out

Charles L.

hey Charles, it's me Delaney :)

hello, thanks for texting back so quick 🙂

haha I guess you could say I'm eager

me too...are you free tonight actually?

yeah, of course

okay, send me your address. I'll pick you up around 6

I squealed in excitement.
"Guess who now has a date" I smiled
"The one who was just crushing on pedri yesterday" Christian said raising an eyebrow
"It's not like he noticed me" I said rolling my eyes, "plus Charles seems sweet" I said
"Whatever, I'm happy for you" he replied.

We finally arrived at the house and the guys headed to their rooms to shower and change.
In the meantime, Sofia helped me pick out an outfit for my date with Charles. I wasn't sure where we'd go, so I didn't wear anything too elegant, but not too casual. I set up the clothes on my bed, and we walked back downstairs.

We all hung out and played mariokart in the living room. We were all very competitive, and I was not about to let the boys beat my streak.

"In your face! I beat your ass" Mason yelled and cheered
"Yeah, you cheated" I replied shaking my head
"How do I cheat in this?" He replied
"I don't know, but you did" I laughed handing them controller over to Christian.

"I'm going to go get ready" I said running up the stairs. I took a shower and changed into my outfit.

I began to do my makeup, and listened to some music in the meantime. I was so happy and so excited.

Once I was all finished, I walked back downstairs. Only joao and Mason were left in the living room.
"Wow wow, you look lovely" Mason smiled looking at me
"Thank you Mase, you're very sweet...when you want to be" I smiled
"You do look very nice. If this date goes well ID like to take credit" joao said
"Credit for what?" I replied
"Well I brought Carlos, Carlos brought Charles so.." he laughed
"Okay fine you have a point" I replied

The doorbell rang as I sat down.
"I got it" joao said getting up.

He opened the door to see Charles standing there.
"Oh um, hello. I'm Charles, I'm here to pick up Delaney" Charles smiled
"Joao, nice to meet you" joao said shaking his hand. He moved to the side so Charles could come in.

In that moment, Mason got up and walked over to Charles.
"So this is Charles" he said sarcastically
"Hello, nice to meet you" Charles smiled
"You too. I want her back at 10, got it?" Mason said seriously
"Mase, stop being annoying" I said getting up.
"Ignore him" I said said rolling my eyes.
"you look beautiful" Charles smiled
"Thank you, not too bad yourself" I replied as we hugged.
"I'm just going to go say bye to Chris, I'll be back" I said walking toward the kitchen.

Charles POV
As Delaney walked away I stood there with Joao and Mason.
"I'm a big fan of yours, I'm actually good friends with Carlos" joao said as he sat down
"Thank you, I appreciate that. Yeah Carlos and I are very close as well" I replied
"So do you watch football, Mr.Leclerc?" Masón said. I laughed because no one calls me that usually.
"Actually I do, I've watched some of You're games" I replied
"Interesting.." he replied

Delaney walked back out. She looked so beautiful, I couldn't stop smiling.
Delaney POv
"Ready to head out?" I said walking towards Charles
"Yes" he smiled.
"Alright, I'll see you all later" I said waving to them. They smiled and waved back as we walked out the door.

Charles opened the passenger door for me, and then walked over to the other side.
"So where are we going?" I asked as he pulled out of the driveway
"One of my favorite places to have dinner here" he replied.

We talked and got to know each other a bit more, and it was very comforting to be around him. I mean i was still nervous because I mean, look at him. But otherwise he was very sweet and thoughtful with every answer.

We finally arrived to the restaurant, he parked the car and walked over to open my door.
He put his arm out so I could put my arm with his.
"What a gentleman" I blushed as he shut the door.
"I try" he smiled back.

We walked towards the entrance, and walked inside. He told them of the reservation, and they took us immediately to our table. I watched as eveyone stared at us, some smiled but others looked judgy. I wasn't used to all the attention so I tried my best to shrug it off.

We got to the table and took our seats.
"So have you ever been here before?" He asked
"Never" I replied
"Well I'm glad to be the first to introduce you" he smiled looking at the menu. I nodded, as I began to look at mine.

A few times I would look up and caught him
staring at me which made me blush. The waitress came over to take our drink orders, and then left.

I watched as Charles focused in the menu and read the French items out loud. He is so hot. I blushed.

"What?" He laughed
"Huh?" I replied
"Did you just say I'm hot?" He smirked
No way I just did that.
"I'm so sorry" I laughed
"Don't worry about it. I appreciate that" he replied.

Once we were finished eating, we sat to finish up our drinks.
"I'm really glad you came" he said grabbing my hand and placing it in his
"Me too. I had a great time" I replied
"Can I ask you something?" He said
"Sure" I replied
"Would you come to my practice race tomorrow. We're having a small charity race, and I would love for you to come" he said
"Sure, I'd love to" I replied
"I'm assuming you're heading back out to London soon?" He said pouting
"Yeah, tomorrow night we fly back" I said sadly
"But I'm sure we'll keep in touch, and see each other here and there" I said
"I really hope" he nodded.

We got ready to head out. He grabbed my arm as we walked back out to the car. We got in, and he drove me back home.

"Thank you for tonight Charles. I loved it" I smiled as we looked at each other
"I'm glad. I had a great time as well" he replied
"I'll see you tomorrow then?" I said
"Of course" he smiled
"Goodnight Charles"
"Goodnight princess" he said as he leaned over to kiss my cheek. I blushed as I got out of the car. I waved at him as I walked up the entrance.

What a night.
