Brooke's POV

After I burst into tears, I ran back home. As I was running, my phone started ringing. I stopped to check who it was. Ross. I declined the call and began running again. "I didn't actually think he would move on. At least not that quickly. I thought we could of worked things out. But I guess not" I thought, as I ran. I could barely see where I was going since I had tears in my eyes. Suddenly I bumped into someone and fell on my butt. "I'm so sorr-Brooke?" A male voice said. I looked up and saw Wesley. "I'm sorry, it was my fault. Everything is" I said, crying. I brought my knees to my chest and buried my face in my knees. "What's going on? What happened?" He said, concerned. I looked up and saw his hand held out for me. I grabbed it then got up. "Long story short, Ross is a jerk" I said, whipping my tears away. "Your boyfriend?"
"Ex-Boyfriend" I said, holding back tears again. Saying it out loud hurt even more. "What happened? Wanna talk about it?" Wes said. I thought about it for a few seconds then nodded. I guess I should talk to someone about it. We sat on a bench close by and I told him what happened at the party to Ross and Laura's date. "Wow..that's a lot. But trust me it's not your fault" He told me. "Everyone says that. But it is"
"No it's not. Don't be upset, Ross doesn't know what he's missing. It's his loss" Wesley said, looking me in the eyes. "Thanks, I just never thought this would happen" I said, looking down at my hands. "Sometimes life doesn't go how you plan it. But everything happens for a reason. Remember that" Wes said, softly. I looked at him and actually smiled. "Wow. Thanks. That really helped" I said, meaning it. "Anytime" He said, smiling back. "I should probably get going now. Thanks for everything though" I said, getting up. "No problem. Nice bumping into you, literally" Wes chuckled. I laughed, then we both went our opposite directions. The rest of the walk wasn't so bad. After talking to Wesley I feel surprisingly better. I'm surprised he didn't ask me out now that I'm single.
When I got home, I said "Hi" to my family then went up to my room. I needed some rest. I lay down on my bed and almost fell asleep instantly.
