WAS THE TOGETHERNESS OF US, THE LAST?

Hayley's POV

I had kept my eyes closed trying to calm my mind, sitting on bed and leaning my head back at the headboard. I was alloted the room in which I had lived the first, when I came here. It still belonged my things, not a single thing seemed touched.

I heard the knock on door and my eyes opened. I sat straight.
"Come in."
I said, and door opened and as expected it was Stefan.

I weakly smiled at him. But my eyes widened when I saw someone unexpected coming behind him.

She left her bag behind and ran to me and hugged me. I looked at Stefan asking him why she is here.

"Adrian told her... Everything..."
He said.

I sighed, my hands went to her back as I hugged her back.

"My friend was a mafia... She was suffering all these days and I was unknown to this fact..."

"I'm-I'm sorry, April."
She didn't say anything but just tightened the hug.

"Come... We need to check on your baby."
She said breaking the hug.

"I heard you got into the fight even after the warning."
She scolded me as I followed her silently.

I never knew there was a medical type of room in Harper's mansion, with every facility.

I was laid down while she checked on my baby with a sad yet serious face.

She suddenly smiled and looked at me.
"I don't know how, but the baby is safe... Look at the screen."
My eyes trailed to look at the screen and my eyes filled with tears looking at the baby sac formed in my womb.

"And now... No more fights... You're taking double care of yourself... Not being sad that whom you lost..."
She said and my smile flattens, remembering them...

"Hayley..."
She said and held my hands firmly.
"... Let's welcome the new guest... He or she... Let's welcome it."
I smiled at her and nodded. I looked at Stefan.

"How is Marshall?"

"Seriously? You are caring about him?"

I smiled
"I need to make sure, I didn't kill someone in rage of vengeance, like he did."

He sighed.
"He is fine... On bed rest for a month at least."
I nodded.

"OK April... About all you know... Don't tell it to anyone. Neither about me being mafia nor about dad and Emerson's death."
She nodded.

"How's the baby?"
The Door opened and Adrian entered in.

"Baby is fine but the mother is weak. It will eventually affect the baby if she didn't took care of herself."
He nodded.

And then April gestured him to look at the screen. He turned to look at the screen and I could see his eyes filling with tears.

This time it was tears of happiness as my eyes felt blessed.

"I'm hungry."
I announced.

Ian looked at me and then made a move towards exit. But I held his wrist.

"Stay..."
I requested.
He sighed.

April got up...
"I'll tell the maids to bring a healthy diet for you-"

"For us... Dinner for both of us."
I said still looking at him as he tried to avoid my gaze.

"Sure."
She said and got out with Stefan.
