Within the stone palace, the great sages continued to watch the fight between Karma and Cloud through the round mirror and during that battle, Karma easily stopped Cloud's punch as she grabbed hold of his wrist and slammed his face to the ground; in a haste, Karma dragged Cloud's face across the surface while flying with a glowing red outline around her body.

"She is strong." Great sage Kova said.

"She is powerful." Great sage Avok said.

"She is vicious." Great sage Jao said.

"She has been dominating this fight since it began." Great sage Azel said, "The young ruler has shown no signs of power nor improvement."

"You used the severing as commanded, correct?" The elder great sage asked great sage Roku.

"Yes. It was as you ordered. I used it on him when we were alone during the mortals tournament." Roku answered.

"If you hadn't done it, this world would have been destroyed the moment Kiorra took control." The elder great sage said.

"May i ask why it wasn't used on him earlier?" Great sage Kova asked the elder great sage, "We had all the chances of strengthening the disconnection between him and Kiorra right from the time he was born. Why now?"

"Time and chance, Kova. Time and chance." The elder great sage said, "Nothing must be rushed."

In the midst of the elder great sage talking, one of the great sages who happened to be Karma's former master, the old dragon of the mountain Riu, scowled at the brutality of Karma as she was repeatedly stomping the belly of Cloud, leading him to recall four years ago as eleven year old Karma knelt before him while having a discussion.

"You have grown in your trainings. Well done." Riu said.

"Thank you, master." Karma replied as she bowed her head, "I will continue working hard to uphold my tribe's legacy and I Karma of the Dreygar tribe vow not to rest until i have fulfilled my goal."

"I know you will. You will do great things in the future and i am proud of you.... Just as your father is." Riu said.

Karma raised her head in astonishment of Riu's words.

"And he too believes you will become a beautiful Dreygar when you grow." Riu said.

Being short of words, Karma's hands shook and she bowed her head again.

"Thank you, master."

After the recollection, Riu bent his head down in sadness.

"Where did i go wrong? Where...?" Riu asked within, "Karma..."

"The girl is yet to tap into her full potential but the boy hasn't even tapped into an ounce of anything." Kova said, "The severing was meant to weaken the connection between him and Kiorra, making it harder for Kiorra to take over his body whenever he wanted and shortening the time he has in control."

"It was still not enough. If Kiorra wanted he could have destroyed this world with just speaking when he manifested." Jao said, "Perhaps it was luck that he wasn't in the mood for destruction in that moment otherwise we would have all been destroyed before the severing effects took place."

"The boy's life was preserved for this moment; for the battle between him and the empress's successor ." Avok said.

"And he is doing poorly." Kova replied, "The empress has the entire fight in her palm but she is taking her time to toy with him."

"Yes, victory is hers but we have seen this cycle too many times." Azel said, "The cycle of the stronger ones playing with their weaker opponents and it ends up turning against them."
