A flashback takes place as Armena sat alone in a garden, watching the sunset. As Armena watched, she felt a presence behind her and sighed.
"I am okay, father." Armena said.
"Your mother loved to come here and watch the sunset. She claimed it gave her a peace of mind whenever she was troubled." Hybereus said as he walked towards her.
"I know. You have told me that like a million times each time i come here." Armena replied.
"Yes, i have. Tell me what seems to be the problem this time?" Hybereus asked as he sat beside her.
Armena closed her eyes and exhaled.
"I was just thinking about the war against the Urokais." Armena answered, "When a band of them killed a wandering hiveling child and placed his head as a warning in the forest, lady Rora took this as an act of war and we retaliated.
The killing of the child was unprovoked and unnecessarily cruel; after all, the child didn't trespass on Urokai ground or harm any Urokai; the forest was just a random ground... A no race property and they unjustly killed him."
"So what is the problem?" Hybereus asked.
"It may sound naive but i do feel we should have asked for the prepetrators first and give a warning before we acted." Armena said, "Telling them if the prepetrators don't step forward or aren't brought to us, then we will have no choice but to act."
"And do you think they would have complied?" Hybereus asked, "As far as we know, they along with many believed our race to be nothing but mere whispers. Besides, there is no way they would sell out their own to us for justice; they would rather dare us. The war was inevitable."
Armena stayed quiet for a while and clenched her fists.
"I saw it. I saw what Ghero was doing to our prisoners." Armena said, "He is using them for experiments, trying to create more of that abomination."
"You mean the berserker?" Hybereus asked, "He is trying to create more of them?"
"That thing is an artificial hiveling, not a real one and the fact he is trying to create more by using them is sickening." Armena said.
"That's how the first was created." Hybereus replied.
Hearing this, Armena glanced at him in shock.
"Great Rora..." Armena said.
"Don't be surprised." Hybereus asked.
Armena stared at her father for some time and turned her face away. Silence fell on the environment until Hybereus finally spoke.
"Armena, do you still want to change this race? Do you still hope to do it?"
"I am not giving up on it. With what i just learnt, this makes me want to change our people even more." Armena answered, "But i still need to get stronger in order to do that."
"Yes. Only the strongest gets to lead. The people listen to the voice of the strongest, so if you hope to recieve their ears and hearts, you must start with being the strongest in our clan." Hybereus said.
"I know. There are walls in this clan i still have to overcome if i am to become leader and sit among the council and even more walls to overcome if i manage to join." Armena said, "Hivelings whose voices might overcome mine when they eventually sit among the council; hivelings like Ghiga, Zeinora, Bleid (possibly), and they will be a problem.
Those three are on a completely different level and are almost indifferent to how they do things.
With them there, my voice might not be heard in the council, especially since im your daughter."
