During the hot afternoon in a wasteland, the sounds of explosions echoed repeatedly and in that moment, a male Urokai with dreads, wearing a navy green tank top and blue trousers, charged towards 13 year old Dam who happened to be covered in a tattered brown cloak.
"You're finished, boy!" The Urokai said while grinning as he stretched out his aura-covered hand to grab Dam.
As the Urokai tries to grab hold of Dam, Dam vanishes in a shade and appears behind him, leaving the Urokai confused and causing him to look back at Dam.
"You're the one who is finished." Dam said as he walks away without paying heed to the Urokai.
Numerous black ice spikes instantly exploded out of the Urokai's body, leaving not a single flesh remaining. As Dam was still walking, a paper descended from above and falls in front of Dam, which made Dam to pick up the paper and read.
"Hmmm. So the pilgrim organization has reopened, huh?" Dam asked within himself, "And not just that, they are going to reopen the pilgrim academy in the next two years at Hamolri and the age range to enter is from 14 to15. Nothing more, nothing less."
Dam had a quick recollection of Chief Dai's death which made the paper on current Dam's hand to shatter and as Dam clenched his fist and Dam lifts his glowing eyes in a cold but ominous manner.
Back at the arena, the ice on the ground shatters while Dam was staring at his broken arm, leaving many of the people to be filled with so much disbelief that they began to mumble amongst themselves.
"Wha-what the hell just happened?!" Lizira asked, "Dam's arm has been broken by Karma but h-how did it happen?!!"
"What the hell…?" A man said.
"I thought it connected." A woman said.
"I could have sworn it connected." Another man said.
    "Oh my…" Idjra said.
    "Dam's arm…" Yulin said.
"She's pretty good…" Chief Akuro said, "At that last moment…"
Chief Akuro instantly remembers as Dam had launched his fist towards Karma but Karma weaves the attack and moves to Dam's side, leaving an afterimage in front of Dam; Karma swiftly grabs Dam's wrist with one hand and effortlessly twists it, grabs hold of his forearm with her other hand and uses her knee to strike under it (while still holding on to Dam's wrist).
"He has lost his arm." Chief Akuro said, "He bet everything he had into that attack but the result was void. What will he do now?"
Back in the fields, Dam drops to his knees and was still staring at his broken arm while Karma was staring at him from behind with her arms crossed.
"It's over. " Karma said, "Stay down. You're in no condition to continue and i'm not interested in dealing with worms.
Plus, you're not even on my menu. You are just a snack and the two people I'm after are the main dishes."
To the shock and displeasure of many, Dam still stood on his feet and turned to look at Karma while having his other arm set for combat.
"D-Dam…?" Yagura said with widened eyes.
At the left side of the Chiefs center, a somewhat chubby male Chief with a large pointy hair and a stubble on his chin, was staring down at Dam with concern which caught the attention of a bob-cut, orange haired female Chief with a black line that spreads from the right side of her cheeks to the left.
"Anything wrong, Chief Forus?" The female Chief asked.
"Not really, Chief Uhma." Chief Forus answered, "It's just i don't understand why he is still fighting? This battle is already over. The sooner he surrenders, the better for him."
"A warrior never surrenders." Chief Uhma replied, "They fight to the very end."
"This isn't a war." Chief Forus said, "This isn't a battle of life and death.
He is in no shape to continue, his body is shaking and he is still trying to keep himself together."
"So you would rather have him surrender than to go down in glory?" Chief Uhma asked.
"There is no glory in stupidity." Chief Forus replied, "There is a difference between dying with honor and dying with foolishness and this contest isn't worth his life."
"I'll agree with you." A masculine voice said.
Chief Uhma turns to her right and sees another male Chief having a black braided hair, staring down at the arena.
"Chief Kazen? Do you care to explain why?" Chief Uhma asked.
"When we are at war, it is expected that we stand our ground and fight." Chief Kazen said, "Running away is a dishonorable and cowardly way but however, there are times one needs to retreat in order to restrategize and regain their strength in battling the enemy; many tend to call this 'Living to fight another day'
But this… This is different. I do admire the Kenar's fighting spirit as a warrior and though becoming a pilgrim is a thing of honor, but still, this is nothing more than a game.... A simple contest to show the power of the young ones and it's not worth throwing his life away."
Meanwhile as Dam was staring at Karma, getting ready to continue, Lizira stood sweating in shock and horror.
"He still wants to continue despite the state his body is in?" Lizira asked within herself, "He is going to get himself killed! That girl Karma, is dangerous. It is either she'll kill him or he'll kill himself out of exhaustion!
Wha-what should i do? Should i end the match? I don't want another Onak and Xorian match. Sh-should i end it? What would Trengal have done?"
"You still want to continue?" Karma asked, "What a pain."
Dam darts towards Karma to attack but Karma swiftly intercepts with a straight kick that pasted him on the wall and made him cough out blood. Dam slowly slid down to the ground and began panting for air while Karma stared at him with her arms folded.
"Final chance. Stay down." Karma said.
Dam, however, still stood on his feet and began to breathe heavily. Dam stretched forth his arm and began to charge a black ice attack but the black ice disappeared and Dam fell on his knees and began to groan in pain while clutching his chest.
"Damn, his body is so broken that he can't even use his black ice anymore." Reiv said.
"Big brother, stop!!" Meeno said, "If you surrender now, they can get you some medical attention but if you keep on going, you will reach the point of no return!! So please just stop!!!"
As Meeno was pleading, Dam still stood on his feet to face Karma which widened Meeno's eyes in shock.
    "Big brother…" Meeno said softly.
Dam immediately sprints towards Karma and throws a fit but Karma sidesteps him, leading him to fall on the ground and as Dam was making efforts to stand, Karma kicks him on the face which sent him rolling on the ground.
For a moment, Dam laid on the ground out cold but he suddenly showed some life as he resumes trying to get back up. During that moment, Karma walks towards Dam, lifts him up to his knees by grabbing hold of his broken arm (which made Dam groan in pain),  and began to coldly glare at him. Karma immediately swung her fist on Dam's cheek which made blood spill out of his mouth and splatter on the ground, causing many to avert their eyes.
The sounds of Karma mercilessly hitting Dam, echoed throughout, making some horrified and some disgusted with what they were witnessing.
"This is too much." A man said.
"Well, it's his fault for not staying down." Another man said.
"The overseer, why is she just standing there?" A woman asked, "Where is Trengal?"
"Yeah, where is Trengal?" A Ripar man asked, "If he was here, he would have called this match off."
"No doubt about it." A Tenplar woman said.
Down at the arena as Karma was walking towards Dam whose body was shaking intensively, Dam tries to land a high side kick but Karma counters by driving her elbow on his knee cap before his leg connected, which ended up shattering it and leading Dam's irises to glint in pain.
The impact of Karma shattering Dam's knee made a loud sound that many among the audience (including Yagura) gasped in horror while Dam drops to the ground with one knee. Just as Dam was on one knee before Karma, Dam tries to punch Karma but Karma easily grabs hold of his wrist, pulls him towards her and shatters his other kneecap with an oblique kick, leading Dam to completely fall on the ground.
While Dam laid on the ground, Karma quickly stomps her foot on Dam's remaining arm and shatters it in the  process, leading Dam to groan in agony while his irises glowed, but as Dam was in pain, Dam immediately felt something pierce him from behind which turned out to be a tyrus fang, catching the audience off guard.
    "DAM!!!" Yagura screamed.
"KARMA, DON'T GO ANY FURTHER!!!" Killer bee screamed.
"How long does it take to put one bird down?" Karma asked while coldly staring down at Dam, "Let's find out."
In a flash, Dam's back was perforated with numerous tyrus fangs and Dam's head drops flatly on the ground. As Dam began to bleed out, the audience became shocked while some shook with fear.
"No…" Yagura said as tears were slowly falling out of her eyes.
    "What the hell…?" Cloud said.
"She really is insane." Govo said.
"Ok, this has gone too far." A Kenar man said.
"Is he still there…?" A Ripar woman asked
"K- Karma…" Lizira said with widened eyes.
"What?" Karma asked while staring down at Dam.
      "Y-you just-"
"The rules of this tournament says one can only win if their opponent yields or stays down." Karma cuts in, "And since he refused to do any of the two, i put him down."
"ARE YOU INSANE?!!!" Lizira asked, "HOW CAN YOU-?"
"Do your work and call the match." Karma cuts in as her eyes rolls back at Lizira, "Humph, even that short bag was a better overseer than you."
     "Huh?" Lizira said in shock.
During the squabble between Karma and Lizira, Dam laid inert on the ground with a pale face as his eyes even lacked the strength to even move around while blood was still flowing out of his body.
"I'm fading here." Dam said within himself, "I can feel my life fleeing from me. Is… Is this how i die?"
Dam quickly recalls the incident of Chief Dai's death and his younger self crying during that moment.
"He died because you were too weak to save him." Karma's voice replayed.
"I will become a pilgrim, even if i have to mow everyone down in this tournament just to do it." Dam's voiced replayed in the dark.
"Chief Dai, i will find out what happened to you. Even if i have to mow everyone down just to do it." Current Dam said within himself as his irises glowed.
At that moment, Cloud took notice of a black snow falling which left him confused.
     "Huh?" Cloud said.
Many others among the audience took notice of the slightly darkened sky and the black snow that was falling from the sky which also left them confused.
     "Huh?"
     "What is this?"
     "Black snow?"
     "How is this possible?"
"Dam?" Yagura asked within herself with wide-opened eyes.
The air began to run wild and Karma and Lizira became shocked as the tyrus fangs on Dam's body shattered while Dam was discharging a menacing black aura and as Dam was slowly rising to his feet, Lizira was filled with so much fear and disbelief.
"He's standing on his feet?" Lizira asked within herself, "But i thought Karma broke both of his legs? But still… What the heck is this pressure?!!"
While Dam stood on his feet, the ground froze up once again with black ice and black wings sprouted out of Dam's back; Lizira found her outstretched arm covered in black ice and it was spreading across her body, causing her eyes to widen in panic.
"My transparent body…! It's freezing!" Lizira said within herself, "I… I am not supposed to feel or be touched by anything. How is this possible?!!"
"That's enough of you!"  Karma said quickly ignites her arm with black-red flames and stretched it out in attempt to blast Dam.
However, the flames on Karma's arm went off and Karma immediately held her throat and drops to her knees while wheezing for air. Dam raised his head, revealing his eyes to be completely black while his eyelids were cracking; the air in the arena grew wilder and Karma found the black ice rapidly spreading across her own body while she was still struggling for air, however, just as Dam lifts one of his healed arms towards Karma and was about to close his hand, Dam's aura vanished and Dam drops to the ground unconscious, leaving many confused at what they just saw.
The black snow ceased and the darkened sky vanished and down at the arena, the black ice that had covered Lizira, Karma and the ground shattered, leaving Lizira to fall on her bum and shiver.
"What the heck was that?" A Ripar man asked.
"Whatever it was, skies were affected by it." A Kenar man said.
"Yes, that boy just made a scary display of power." A redhead Kenar woman said, "It's a miracle we weren't even affected by it."
"It's because of the Ritzku barrier." A Tenplar man said, "But i find it odd that despite the barrier, and his condition, his power was still strong enough to do what he did to the skies."
"Just like Gorn's domains authority and Sting's attack that altered the sky color. So far these three have shown to be quite Intriguing and scary at the same time." A Tenplar woman said, "However, if it wasn't for Dam's broken body, who knows what would have happened by now. It's better they call this match off."
"They should call it off, but however, the overseer there, is frightened to the bone and that Dreygar girl seems to be trying to cope with her fears."
"Are… You sure about that?" A Kenar man asked with a wide-eyed expression.
At the arena, Karma, who happened to be on both knees, was gazing at the ground while breathing heavily and having one hand to cover her face, leaving only her right eye exposed.
     "That bastard…!" Karma said within herself, "I'll kill him…! I'll kill him…!!"
"I'll kill him!!!" Karma said within herself as her reptilian pupils became diluted (taking a more dragon like appearance).
