Pit and her parents stared at each other for some time and Govo seemingly understanding the situation, scratched the back of his head and turned his back to walk away.
"I'll be leaving now." Govo said.
After Govo had left, Pit and her parents continued to stare at each other for a while until her mother spoke.
"Pit, are you hurt? What happened?!"
"Why are you here?" Pit asked.
"We came to see you." Pit's mother answered.
"Came to see me? After how many years?" Pit asked.
"Come now, don't be like that." Pit's mother said, "I know we wrote some things that weren't meant to be written but we changed our minds and we are here now."
"You wrote to my grandfather that you had better things to do than to see me, your own daughter." Pit said, "What was more important than seeing your own daughter? You made a promise that you would visit me one day and i waited. Day after day i kept waiting until i was twelve, that's when i saw that letter.
Not only did you break your promise but you made it clear that your child didn't mean much to you."
"But we finally kept our promise. That's why we are here." Pit's mother said.
"I doubt it is the promise that brought you here. So tell me, what made you come and how did you know where i would be?" Pit asked.
"Pit, i..."
Unable to think of what to say, Pit's mother turned her face away in shame.
"Pit, your mother... She is dying." Pit's father said.
Pit's became shocked with the revelation and her father sighed.
"And you are correct, it wasn't the promise that brought us to you. It was because she requested to see our daughter one last time before she departs from the living." Pit's father said, "When we went to see Ujiro, her father... Your grandfather, he was displeased with our presence."
A flashback takes place within the house of Pit's grandfather as Ujiro and Pit's parents were individually sitting on wooden chairs in the living room while Ujiro was drinking wine from a small brown cup and scowling at them.
"I never expected you to be here; i never expected any of you after what you wrote." Ujiro said.
"We came to see our daughter." Pit's mother said.
"Daughter? Which one?" Ujiro asked, "Is it the one you abandoned at my house just so you can have time to yourselves? The one you promised to come and visit but sent a letter that you have better things to do and seeing your own daughter isn't worth your time? Which one? I'm confused."
"I know we have a lot of explanations but at least can we just see her? Can we just see our daughter Pit?" Pit's mother asked.
"Well, she is not here." Ujiro said while he sipped his wine, "You may leave now."
"Where is she?" Pit's mother asked.
"Why do you want to know?" Ujiro asked.
"Father, please." Pit's mother begged.
"Father... Yes... It's a shame we are blood because right now i can't seem to recognize my own daughter." Ujiro said, "The daughter i raised would never have written that letter. The daughter i raised would have kept her promise.
So tell me..."
"Are you truly her?" Ujiro asked as his irises glowed, "Are you truly my daughter? My blood?"
"That's a terrible thing to ask your daughter!" Pit's father said to Ujiro as he impulsively stood on his feet, "You are going too fa-!"
