A flashback takes place in an unknown terrain of the Earth realm as one of the great sages Roku, scooped the sand on the ground with his right hand and stared at it for a short while; bending his hand sideways, the sand started streaming down and while this happened, Roku monologued.

"There was once a boy; haughty, arrogant, born with no talent but yet he painted himself as one who is larger than life. Hailing from a clan rooted with great evil and terrifying power, the boy's destiny was already set for him as one who will bring the death of creation itself, but in his growth he became the opposite of what destiny had intended.
There was once a girl; talented, meek, kindhearted, a girl given many things but never saw herself as one who is larger than life. Hailing from a tribe rooted with terrifying power but great deeds and herioc tales, the girl's path was set for her as one will bring hope and comfort to all life. One who shall bring the beginning of a new era.
But just like the boy, in her growth she deviated from the path she was meant to follow and became the opposite of what destiny had planned for her."

Once the sand had completely poured to the ground, Roku raised his head to gaze at the sky and continued monologuing.

"These two... Opposite sides of a coin. One born in an abased tribe, destined for evil and one from a renowned tribe, destined for good. Both straying and becoming the opposite of what they were meant to be. Is the order of this world disarranged? Is it turned upside down or are we judging too soon? Perhaps we are, but these two will finally cross paths and only then shall we see whose destiny will be fulfilled.
Their clash is inevitable."

"I have taken a few glances on the empress's successor and seen what she has become and i have kept an eye on the boy and watching him grow, i do not wish to see him perish." Roku said within as he bent his head, "I do not wish to see my godson perish."

Back in the mysterious pocket realm as Cloud laid unconscious on his chest, water suddenly splashed on his head which quickly brought him to wake up and pant. Cloud raised his head and took sight of Karma standing in his front with her arms crossed.

"Wake up, whitehead, we still have unfinished business." Karma said,"You're still fighting to save your sister and i am still undefeated."

Cloud stared at Karma for some seconds but as he made an attempt to stand, Cloud fell back on his chest and grunted in pain which led him to recall the time Karma broke his back.

"Your broken back was healed. You were healing the moment it was broken but i used my salamander to speed up the process." Karma said, "It's odd how Van was on the verge of death when i broke his back but you weren't. Your arms and leg were healing slowly but the moment your back was broken, it became quick.
Does your body heal faster in life threatening situations? Are you somewhat immortal? Van survival was seen as luck but yours can't be counted as one."

Cloud's breathing became ragged as he laid on the ground in pain. While this happened, Karma spoke in her heart.

"How disappointing. I thought with all the push he'd improve and grow stronger but he regressed instead, and from what my salamanders showed when he power was growing, he was hurting his body. Odd... Very odd indeed.
Anger is one of the fastest emotions Kan users have used to increase their power quickly but if his body can't handle the growth then how am i supposed to learn what it was that made that god choose him? Is this all in vain? No, even if i didn't get the answer i wanted, he needs to learn the consequences of refusing his power and the kind of pain it can bring, and if he still refuses then i will go over to my next plan.
We are far from finished, Cloud of the Stormwind."

"But... He can't stand on his feet; i supposed i overdid it. In breaking his back, it brought a big delay on my plan and the other one isn't close to ready." Karma said within as she pouted in annoyance, "Even if his healing is somewhat faster than the average kan user, a broken back is no small thing to recover from. How infuriating. Van only survived because of luck and because his former friends were quick enough to take him to Leorona for healing.
As he is right now, he is unable to stand even though his back was healed, but I'll wait; I'll simply use my salamanders help soothe the pain and strengthen his body. Until then, i have no other option than to go with the least of my plans."
