Chapter 114: Mirrors part 7

In the blue leafed pocket realm, a couple of humans were searching the hiveling bodies that laid on the ground in hope to find an artifact capable of transporting them out of the realm; during their search, a redhead female Kenar was talking with a black haired Ripar male.

"So what do you think? Do you believe there might be hope for Cloud against Karma?" A Ripar male asked a redhead Kenar female.

"You heard what they said: there is no hope for him unless that god takes over." The Kenar female replied, "We have watched how Karma deals with her opponents. We have also had encounters with her.
There is this uneasy presence she carries with her, a feeling of despair that arrives when she is in a battle against someone. Those that are weak would feel it immediately without her doing anything and those that aren't won't feel a thing. But it is better you felt that despair at the beginning because if you don't, you will feel it later which is much worse.
We have seen many strong candidates fall prey into that feeling and how it changed them; none of them remained the same afterwards.
Each of her stronger targets never felt despair at the beginning of their battle with her but as it went on, it crept in and consumed them. The longer the battle, the stronger that feeling became.
Pit, Sonia, Gilko, Kein... Tan'r... They all fell into it and they changed. Even the underworld fiend Van, i saw that look of despair in his eyes during his fight with Karma and just like victims, he changed with them."

"How? He was still the same to me." The Ripar male replied.

"He become more vicious, more sadistic and unstable. It was a day after he had medically recovered he almost killed Yulin because of a prank; it is not the first time he has almost killed someone; he has almost killed Obaru, he has almost killed Reiv and Izaiya, he has almost killed Ziron and Enida, infact he has almost killed a lot but this time it was different... Very different . He was darker, his presence became more sinister.
   Yeah, he did change. I guess that's why his friends had a fallout with him and i won't blame them if that was the reason." Kenar female said.

"And what about Killer bee? She resisted till the end and she didn't change." The Ripar male said, "And Dam? He wasn't broken by her."

"Dam is hard to read and as for Bee, she fell at the beginning until she was encouraged to continue fighting; Karma didn't fight her like she fought the others... She got off easy." The Kenar female replied, "And just like Dam, she was never Karma's prey and if she was, that smile would be no more.
As much as Cloud motivated her to stand her ground, he was indirectly encouraging her to commit suicide. If Karma was in the mood for Bee, there won't be a leftover. That Dreygar's title as the black dragon suits her well."

"Yeah, i can't deny that." The Ripar male said.

"Do you know the major difference between Karma and Van in my opinion? Van tries too hard to be a demon, she doesn't. " The Kenar female said, "Cloud will fall and that is inevitable. He may not be the type to give up easily and he is stubborn as hell but all that will make it worse because when he breaks (which he will) that Cloud we used to see will just be another victim of Karma's madness."

After the Kenar female had given her explanation, the Ripar male bent his head down as he was left speechless.

"Sometimes it is better to be weak against her both mentally and physically than to face that cruel future." The Kenar female said.

   Meanwhile in the mysterious pocket realm, Cloud crashed back-first on a tree but quickly moved away to evade a punch from Karma that broke the tree. Cloud punched Karma twice on the face but Karma struck back with a punch to the face, belly and ends everything by leaping in the air and delivering a spinning roundhouse that made Cloud made twist and fall on the ground. Karma dropped her fist on the back of Cloud, bringing an instant and very painful memory to him of the time she broke his back.
  
   Karma held Cloud by the hair and tossed him to a tree; the moment Cloud bumped back-first on it, Karma showed up in his front and unloaded a series of punches on his face and belly, causing him to cough out spittle repeatedly. In the middle of her attacks, Cloud was able to throw a punch on Karma's face but Karma immediately retaliates by unsheathing her claws from her right hand and striking with an upward slash on his chest. Karma slashed Cloud repeatedly on his upper body and arms, finalized her attacks by stabbing him in the belly with the claws on her left hand.
