Being amused by the attitude of Karma despite his little demonstration, Mohan smirked at her while Karma maintained her plain demeanor.
"Not fazed, huh?" Mohan asked, "Wow. You really are something else. Many would have been cautious and afraid but you... You don't feel an ounce of fear."
Karma stayed mute and Mohan smirked with closed eyes.
"Of course, you don't. If only i had paid attention to the information they were giving us, i would have known and understood who you are. But that doesn't matter." Mohan said.
"You talk too much." Karma said.
A myriad red flaming fangs materialized in the air above and beside Karma and they were sent towards Mohan at an astounding speed but to the surprise of the other humans, the fangs laid in circles at Mohan's feet.
"Oh my. You still can't grasp it, can you?" Mohan asked while emitting his aura.
"Look!" A masculine voice sounded.
Killer bee and the other humans quickly turned back and became shocked caught sight of Karma seated while leaning on a tree with her back and her upperface overshadowed. Killer bee glanced at where Karma stood before and where she is currently, leaving Bee short of words.
"When did she...?" A female Tenplar said.
"That hiveling..." A male Graundar said.
First the hair, now this." A male Ripar said.
"Karma..." Killer bee said softly.
Reiv stared at Mohan as he was sitting on the ground while paying attention to his fingernails. Just as Karma quietly stood on her feet while still having her upperface overshadowed, Mohan gaped at her and smiled.
"You're finally up. I was starting to wonder if i used too much force with that kick." Mohan said, "So now, do you acknowledge me or do you still think of me as a lesser?"
"Is that what you did? Kicked me? Very funny." Karma said, "And acknowledgement? Why should i acknowledge one whose legs are so feeble they can't harm the kid of a goat?
The way i see it, the ones you killed with your kicks were already on the verge of death; those chopstick legs simply took the credit."
"You always have something to say, huh?" Mohan asked while smiling at the time he was discharging his aura, "Okay then, i think it's time i take you out with a real kick."
A large wave immediately erupted, pushing back many while Mohan stood in shock that Karma stopped his kick with her own leg.
"Huh?" Mohan said within.
The humans and hivelings that bore witness to this were also in disbelief, bringing them to murmur among each other.
"What?"
"Did that human just...?"
"Impossible."
"She stopped that hiveling's kick?"
"But how?!"
"Karma..." Killer bee said softly.
Still in shock with the actions of Karma, Mohan watched as she slowly brought down his leg with hers.
"Dragon's art: Infernal strike." Karma said within.
In a flash, Karma simultaneously landed a back-fist on the right and left cheek of Mohan and finalized with a forearm to the nape, creating afterimages of red flames in the act and causing Mohan's eyes to glow. Mohan dropped to his knees and began to pant for air while Karma stared down at him with crossed arms.
"How...?" Mohan asked.
"I don't owe you any explanations. All I'll tell you is that your ability won't work on me again." Karma replied.
Mohan's discharged his aura while facing the ground but he just like other humans and hivelings became surprised as he found himself being raised off the ground through Karma clutching his mouth. Words tried to escape from Mohan's mouth but they couldn't due to the grip of Karma.
"Didn't i just tell you it won't work again?" Karma asked.
Karma casually tossed Mohan to the ground and Mohan gazed at Karma while emitting his aura again. Mohan appeared behind Karma but Karma slammed her knuckle on his face and quickly twirls to land a low roundhouse on his side which sent him tumbling. Mohan steadied himself and released his aura again; Mohan appeared in front of Karma but his punch was easily stopped. Karma crushed his fist, causing Mohan to scream out in agony which was cut short with a punch to the face that made him roll backwards. Mohan stood on his feet and was panting but Karma took notice of Mohan's crushed hand healing.
"Hoh? It seems you have a remarkable healing speed. Does this ability only pattern to you?" Karma asked.
Mohan released his aura again and showed up in front of Karma to land a kick to the side of her head, only for Karma easily catch his kick with one hand. Karma slowly tightened her grip on Mohan's leg, leading him to scream out in pain. Karma hastily slammed Mohan in the opposite direction of the ground and created a huge crack in the process.
The other hivelings watched with worry especially Mohan's older sister.
"What is going on? How is she doing this?" Mohan's older sister asked within, "Has she figured out how his kan ability works? Even if she has, it doesn't make sense for her to be dominating him like this.
I can't just stand here. I have to help!"
However before Mohan's older sister could take a step forward, Karma glanced at her direction with glowing irises which immediately immobilized her with fear and made her eyes glow.
"What... What is this feeling of fear?" Mohan's sister asked within, "With just a glance and I can feel myself paralysed. Why can't i move? I have to help him..."
"I have to...!" Mohan's sister said within as her eyes were clogged with tears.
Karma walked towards Mohan who happened to be standing on all fours and panting for air.
"What's wrong, lesser? Out of steam?" Karma asked.
Mohan released another aura but appeared being struck with a back-fist by Karma that sent him tumbling. Mohan steadied himself and panted for air again while Karma stared down at him with crossed arms.
"A word of warning: Do it again and your next treatment will be worse." Karma said.
Mohan discharged a stronger aura while yelling with glowing eyes but he ended up finding himself pierced in the belly by Karma's fist. The humans and hivelings watched in shock as the two stood silently and Mohan coughed out blood.
"MOHAN!!!" Mohan's sister scream with her eyes glowing as tears flowed out of her eyes.
Karma pulled her fist out of Mohan's belly, leaving Mohan to fall flat on his face. Blood poured out of Mohan's belly but Mohan still made struggles to stand.
"Hoh? That strike was fatal but you're still alive." Karma said.
In the process of Mohan trying to stand, Mohan groaned and fell on his face. Mohan began to emit another aura which made Karma to slightly scowl at him. In an instant, Karma appeared slamming Mohan's head on a large tree. Karma released her grip and Mohan fell on his bum.
"You never learn, do you?" Karma asked as she stared down at him.
Meanwhile as Mohan's sister was watching afar, she still stood trembling with fear.
"Move! Move! Just move!" Mohan sister said within, "How can you stand there and let her do this to your brother?!"
Mohan's sister instantly recalled the flaming dragons and the glance from Karma.
"No. I can't do it." Mohan's sister said within, "I just can't..."
A flashback takes place as Mohan's sister stood in the midst of 4 elderly hivelings sitting on a chair.
"Greetings, elder warriors of the hiveling race." Mohan's sister said as she bowed her head.
"Welcome, Kazura." An elderly female hiveling said to Mohan's sister.
"Do you know why we summoned you?" The 1st hiveling male elder asked.
"No." Kazura answered.
"Your adopted brother Mohan, we have taken our time to study him." The 2nd hiveling male elder said.
"Your brother's kan ability of shadow flow allows him to steal motion from people and his environment the moment he draws out his aura, making him look in the eyes of others as one with unrivaled speed." The 3rd hiveling male elder said, "When we asked your brother a few questions about his ability, he claimed each time he uses it, time stops before his eyes.
An impressive ability if you ask me."
"When your father decided to take Mohan in, a promise was made to Mohan's mother that Mohan will become strong, which he is but the problem is that he is too complacent." The female elder hiveling said, "We have gotten reports about Mohan's slothful behavior. It's not that he has a problem with fighting but he is just too lazy to improve himself.
It pains me to see such strength and talent go to waste especially with someone so young. He even has great skills in aura manipulation but he would rather spend his time sleeping because he thinks himself as one with immeasurable power. His power is immense but it is far from immeasurable."
"Your brother Mohan is a great asset but his behavior is unacceptable. We as the elders even believe he could be a clan leader when he is of age just like the others such as the one they call the walking calamity: Ghiga, the paired malice: Xi and Ona, the blood scourge: Zeinora, the shadow of death: Gran , the unequal: Xarafi, the executioner: Inos and finally the one who others find difficult in controlling, the one they call the song of violence: Bleid." The 1st elder hiveling said, "If your brother hones his ability and skills, he will be considered as one who is on their level but the sad part is that he has little interest in such.
He has proven useful in the war against other races but this one will be different; this one will involve the ones that took everything from us... The humans and we will tolerate his laziness no more."
"Within a few days, we will fight with the humans. Talk to your brother and make him see the dangers of the path he is threading." The female elder hiveling said.
Another flashback takes place as many teenage hivelings watched as Ghiga and Bleid stood face to face with one another, filling the air with so much intensity that some of the hivelings watching shuddered.
"I'm still sore about our war with the Urokai race. You stepped out of line several times." Ghiga said.
"I don't know why you are so angry. I am loyal to the hiveling race and lady Rora but i also follow the symphonies; whatever they tell me, i simply go with the rhythms." Bleid replied with a smile.
"In 2 days, we will commence our full operation against the humans in Keigra. If you ever step out of line again, you and your symphonies will answer to me." Ghiga said as his eyes glowed.
"Oh? I'm starting to hear a faint song." Bleid said as he grinned deviously with glowing eyes.
Bleid and Ghiga stared at each other for some time and turned their backs to walk away. In the process of walking, Bleid and Ghiga both stopped and glanced at each other simultaneously with glowing eyes and resumed walking away; however, Ghiga and Bleid both paused again and quickly turned around to walk towards each other.
Just as Ghiga and Bleid stood face to face with each other again, the two began to exude their auras, leading the hivelings watching to murmur.
"Oh no..."
"Wait, these two are really going to fight?"
"This is bad."
"Somebody stop them!"
"Like who?!"
"You stop them!"
While Bleid and Ghiga were staring at each other, Bleid grinned with a raised brow.
"You know, the symphonies has gotten a bit loud." Bleid said, causing the scowl on Ghiga's face to increase.
"That's enough. You're both too noisy." A masculine voice sounded.
The hivelings watching turned and saw the person to be Mohan.
"Why don't you save all that energy for the humans. We'll be needing them." Mohan said.
"You know there is a human proverb that says when two lions are roaring... The dog should not open it's mouth to bark." Ghiga said as he glanced at Mohan with glowing eyes.
"Oh? So I'm a dog now?" Mohan asked.
"There are many things i have no respect for." Ghiga said as he walked towards Mohan, "Failures, bootlickers, weaklings but most of all those with great potential but they would rather choose comfort than to push themselves beyond their limits."
"And you are such." Ghiga said as he stared down at Mohan, "And when the time comes in our battle with the humans, you will be among those that will die."
"Is that so?" Mohan asked with a smirk.
"We'll see about that." Mohan said as he turned his back to walk away.
Just as Mohan left, Bleid caught sight of Kazura sitting on a large branch and watching them.
After the recollection, Kazura watched as Mohan was panting while Karma stared at him with crossed arms.
"Mohan..." Kazura whispered.
Mohan yelled and ran down at Karma's direction to punch her but Karma punched him on the diaphragm which ended shattering 7 of his ribs and made him step back.
"No!" Kazura said within.
Blood rushed out of Mohan's mouth and Mohan fell on his knees, but regardless of the injury, Mohan was still able to stand on his feet.
"I destroyed 7 of your ribs and you are still able to stand? Many would have died from that attack." Karma said.
"How is she doing this?" Reiv asked Killer bee while watching the scene between Karma and Mohan, "I was certain that he was someone Karma needed to take seriously otherwise she would die to him, but here she is toying with him."
"She has adapted and once she adapts, the tables can barely be turned." Killer bee replied, "There is a reason why she is at the top. Karma is a quick study; unlike Pit whose kan ability allows her to copy and become two times better, Karma's adaptability is one of her natural gifts.
Kan abilities and techniques, once Karma adapts, she can counter them so perfectly and even create techniques to counter. I find her gift somewhat similar to Grei."
"Dunen's older brother?" Reiv asked, "The way i see him, i see him as a combination of Pit and Karma. Once Grei sees a technique, he analyzes and masters it until it becomes a concept and that's not even his kan ability.
But one i can't even understand is Onak. How he adapts, i can't tell if it is his natural gift or something his kan allows him to do. Honestly, these big ones are on a level of their own."
While Mohan slid on his chest and moaned in pain, Kazura still paralyzed with fear watched as her brother stood on his feet and was breathing heavily.
"No... No! No! No!" Kazura said within, "He is going to die! If only i could help him... If only i could..."
Kazura grits her teeth and tightly clenched her fists.
"Mohan!!!" Kazura called, causing Mohan to glance at her and drawing the attention of the other hivelings and humans.
"Mohan, you blockhead! What do you think you are doing?!!" Kazura asked, "Standing like that in a pitiful manner before the enemy, you are embarrassing us!!"
"Did she drink?" A male hiveling asked within.
"Everytime we would tell you Train! Train! Train! And each time you would say NO! NO! NO! Now look at where it has gotten you!" Kazura said, "When we took you in, my parents and i could easily see your potential. Everyone could easily see your potential, even the elders admitted you are one of those few that has the potential of becoming a clan leader!"
"Clan leader?" A female hiveling asked within.
"Instead of harnessing your gifts, you would rather spend your time sleeping! Mohan, out of all the hivelings here, you are easily the strongest!" Kazura said, "No hiveling here holds a candle to your power and believe me when i say you can beat her; you can beat the human, the last of the Dreygars, you can beat her!
You are our last hope! So please don't lose to her!!!"
Stunned for a while, Mohan stared at Kazura and quickly turned to look at Karma.
"Idiot." Mohan said to Kazura while smiling, "You are real pain, you know? Well i guess at this point i can't afford to lose."
Kazura nods her head and smiled.
"That was touching. But you and i both know how this will end." Karma said to Mohan, "You cannot beat me, so don't bother wasting your time."
"I cannot beat you? And who decided that?" Mohan asked.
"It has been decided. Your defeat was already predetermined." Karma replied, "You know, i find it funny how the elders of your race would consider a lesser like you becoming a clan leader. When i was a little girl, many considered me a future chief and i constantly showed it, but if you are what they would consider as a next generation leader, then your race standards are low. Terribly low."
Hearing the words of Karma, Kazura and the other hivelings scowled at her.
"It's so funny that it makes your race look like a joke which it is." Karma said at the time Mohan was gazing at the ground, "You don't come from a warrior race, you come from a circus race and you are just a mere circus performer."
Mohan screamed in rage and released a powerful aura in the process.
"You can insult me if you want but the moment you insult the pride of my race, you are going to regret it!" Mohan said while frowning as his eyes were glowing.
"The pride of bugs?" Karma asked, "I'll admit i do find it embarrassing that humans are struggling against your kind. The way i see it the only ones i can permit in the struggle are the minors. Now i am thinking about it, your race couldn't confront us without knowledge on how we fight and the numbers game. This goes to show how weak and pathetic you really are."
Mohan fuming with so much anger, growled at Karma while his aura grew.
"Do my words offend you? I don't care." Karma said, "I for one do not understand the feelings of the weak; they are meaningless before me. If everything i said offends you, then conquer your deficits or die on your belly like the worms you are."
"You know what, I'll give a chance right here to prove yourself." Karma said as she stretched forth her right hand, "Hit me with your strongest attack and I'll decide if you're worth the effort."
"This human... Who the heck does she think she is?" Mohan asked within, "I have met a lot with arrogance but i have never seen anyone with her kind. I'll shut her up right now!"
Mohan placed his palms against one another and draws them to his side.
"Wait, is he going to use it?" Kazura asked within with widened eyes.
"Older sister! Everyone! Get away from me, right now!!" Mohan said.
"He is going to use it! Everyone run!" A hiveling said at the time other hivelings were running.
Kazura stared at Mohan for a while and quickly joined the others in running.
Steam drew out of Mohan's mouth the moment he exhaled with his eyes closed. The attack Mohan was preparing sent a vibration that temporarily altered the color of the environment to black and white. The scenario repeated itself 3 times and the humans (except Karma) found themselves levitating.
"Huh?!" Killer bee said in shock.
While the humans were levitating, trees also joined but the leaves that fell out of them broke the ground which increased the shock of the other humans.
"His attack is distorting the gravity of this environment." Reiv said within, "This is bad. If he should unleash that attack, everyone here will die!"
"Bee!" Reiv called telepathically, causing her to glance at him, "Get everyone out of here now!"
"I can't! There is a limit to the amount of people i can carry!" Killer bee replied, "If i use my gates, i might end up leaving one person behind!"
"Then leave Karma!" Reiv said.
"What?!" Killer bee said in shock.
"She is the only one unaffected by effects so she might have a chance! The rest of us don't!" Reiv said, "I know you don't want to leave her behind, but trust me, Karma is capable of surviving this!"
Killer bee gazed at Karma who was still standing nonchalantly with her arms crossed while watching Mohan prepare his attack. Conflicted, Killer bee closed her eyes and made up her mind.
"Gates!" Killer bee said within as she spreads her arms apart and created portals that teleported the other humans away.
Beams of light shot out in-between the fingers of Mohan, creating craters on the spot he stood while Mohan's eyes were still closed.
"This my final technique." Mohan said.
The beams of light grew bigger and the craters Mohan stood on increased; Karma suddenly found herself levitating which left her a bit surprised.
"Hm?" Karma said.
"Disappear." Mohan said.
Mohan swiftly fired the beam at Karma, resulting in a powerful explosion that sent a wave across and incinerated countless objects.
