While chief Ezgord was walking in one of the halls of the shard court, people in there were dismayed by the amount of blood his body was stained with and started murmuring among themselves.
"Is that chief Ezgord?"
"No doubt it is."
"What happened?"
"Whatever happened, I'm not sure i want to know."
Chief Ezgord caught notice of chief Akuro, Grai and Zotek standing in a corner and discussing with one another.
"The other chiefs may have agreed to save your punishment for later but that doesn't mean i will." Chief Akuro said to Zotek, "You may be helping us bring them back but if you ever make a suspicious move, i promise you your punishment will be swift..."
"And painful." Chief Akuro said with a scowl as his iris glowed.
"At ease, chief Akuro." Chief Grai said.
"It's his fault we are in this situation. If he is capable of controlling his friend for his own gain, what makes you think he won't make another despicable move?" Chief Akuro asked, "He is a diabolical fiend and it is his mess we are dealing with now."
"What mess?" A masculine voice asked.
Chief Akuro, Grai and Zotek turned and saw the person to be Ezgord.
"Chief Ezgord." Chief Grai said.
"Brother." Zotek said.
"Where were you?" Chief Akuro asked.
"Dealing with some hivelings and trying to get information on what they had done to my son." Chief Ezgord answered, "After killing a handful of them, they had someone coming out to act as their savior."
"Who?" Chief Grai asked.
"A lerekon who many call Death mask." Chief Ezgord answered.
"Death mask? He is working for him?" Chief Akuro asked.
"Who?" Chief Ezgord asked.
"The leader of the race that once ruled all mortals with an iron fist." Chief Akuro said.
Hearing the answer from chief Akuro, chief Ezgord's irises glowed and his eyes slightly widened.
"I see." Chief Ezgord said as he bent his head down, "Well he is dead."
"Huh?" Chief Akuro said in confusion.
"He tried to escape with the hivelings and i allowed them by summoning a black hole to swallow them." Chief Ezgord said.
"Oh." Chief Grai said with a smile.
"Still, i thought that race was destroyed by our ancestors. To think they would still exist and return is absurd." Chief Ezgord said, "I heard whispers about the hivelings being aided by a powerful race. It was them, wasn't it?"
"It was and this happened because of your brother." Chief Akuro said.
"Chief Akuro." Chief Grai called.
"He knew about the hivelings infiltration and brainwashed his friend into secrecy just to fulfill his selfish desires of acquiring information that was meaningless at that time." Chief Akuro said to chief Ezgord.
"Oh really? That is a Zotek thing to do." Chief Ezgord said to Akuro as he glanced at Zotek while frowning.
"You don't seem surprised." Chief Grai said to chief Ezgord.
"No. Not at all." Chief Ezgord replied.
"It is because of him so many people died. It is because of him they succeeded and took our young ones including your son, and he will be punished for it." Chief Akuro said.
