Chapter 52: Dragon

  As the people sat on their seats, filled with awe (concerning what Dam did), some were filled with concern as they watched Karma clutching her face while kneeling.
  "Hey, what's wrong with her?"
  "Is she alright?"
  "After what happened, i doubt she would be."
  "Yeah."
   A dangerous pressure filled the place, triggering many to sweat and tremble.
   "Is... Is that bloodlust i'm feeling right now?"
   "What in hell...?"
   "Karma?" Killer bee called in a fearful countenance.
   Karma's hair flew wildly around her and her aura roamed the field with murderous intensity, striking more fear into the hearts of others. In that time, Karma's rampaging aura grew in size, damaging the ground and creating a black-red humanoid dragon with four sets of eyes, four sets of arms and six wings, whom it's roar shook the entire place.
    "What in the world...!" Raen said.
    "What is that?!" Yulin asked.
    "Is that the Salamander?" Obaru asked.
    "No, i doubt it." Izaiya replied.
    "Holy heavens...!" Kein said.
    While so many people were quivering at the sight and pressure of the dragon, Pit took notice of Cloud not being shook by the pressure but was still filled with dread. However to the shock of Pit, Pit noticed Sting sitting relaxingly while smirking with his darkened eyes.
   "He is not fazed?" Pit asked inwardly.
   Karma raised her head and gazed at the unconscious body of Dam with a violent and rage-filled visage and the shopkeeper instantly took notice of Karma's diluted reptilian pupils which made him more terrified.
    "Her eyes...! This isn't good!"
    "Is this match still going? Someone needs to stop this!" Zarik said.
   While growling, Karma extracted her claws and charged towards Dam with a deepened yell, resulting in an explosion taking place whereby creating a strong shockwave and filling the arena with smoke.
  Just as the smoke had cleared, the crowd were surprised as Karma was being restrained by the Chiefs (Tenya holding the wrist of Karma, Ezgord holding her forearm while Miza and Akuro held her by the left and right shoulders); in front of Karma, stood Killer bee with both arms spread apart and with both eyes closed as Karma's claws had almost made contact with her face.
   "That's enough." Chief Tenya said as her eyes moves back at Karma.
   "Calm down." Chief Akuro said.
   Karma's raging aura and floating hair immediately quells as she regains her composure, resulting to Karma dropping on her knees and exhaling. Karma lifts her head and became slightly confused as she takes notice of Killer bee standing in front of her with tears flowing out of her eyes.
   "Bee...? What are you doing here?" Karma asked.
    "You lost yourself and i couldn't sit there and watch you make a big mistake." Killer bee said.
    "You fool." Karma said, "What if i had-"
    "DAM!" A feminine voice sounded.
    Killer bee turns back and sees the person to be Yagura who happens to be far, holding the unconscious Dam in her arms with a face full of panic.
     "Dam, hang on! Hang on!" Yagura said, "Healers!! Healers, come here quickly!!!"
    "That woman... Dam's adoptive mother Yagura." Karma said inwardly as she watched the healers placing Dam on a stretcher, "She must gotten here when the Chiefs arrived and taken him away before i could strike. Still though, how did she get in...?"
    "How did they get in?" Karma asked inwardly as she glimpsed at Chief Tenya and Chief Ezgord.
   Looking back at Dam, Karma sighed and stood on her feet in attempt to walk towards him but was quickly stopped as a hand firmly gripped her shoulder which turned out to be Chief Miza.
   "And where do you think you're going?" Chief Miza asked.
   "Chief Miza, wait." Chief Akuro said, "Let her go."
   "Huh? Why?" Chief Miza asked as she glanced at him.
   "Chief Akuro, i don't think it is wise to-"
   "You can also feel balance of words and emotions, correct?" Chief Akuro cuts in on Chief Tenya, "Have you felt any balance of bloodlust from her?"
   Chief Tenya stared at Chief Akuro for a few seconds and shook her head in response.
    "Then allow her to do what she wants to do." Chief Akuro said, "Trust me."
     Chief Tenya nods her head at Chief Miza as a sign to release Karma to which Chief Miza complied, allowing Karma to walk towards Dam. At that time Karma reached the stretcher, Karma extends her hand over the unconscious Dam, leading to a red glow covering him while her hand was covered with red aura.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Yagura asked.
   "Stay back." Yagura said as she started emitting a red aura with her irises glowing, "I said-!"
   "Your son is at death's door." Karma cuts in while staring at Dam, "The fool pushed himself too far, especially with the last stunt he pulled; by the time the Keigra healers takes him to their medical room, he'll be gone.
   What i'm doing is to keep your son at bay to make sure he doesn't cross over to the other side."
   "Huh?" Yagura said in amazement.
   "Karma..." Killer bee said softly.
   "This guy... He has lasted far longer than anyone that has ever fought me so far." Karma said within herself, "Even at that last moment..."
   Karma recalls the earlier scenes of wings sprouting out of Dam's back, his eyes being completely black and her being covered in black ice.
   "He made me feel what no one has ever made me feel in a long time... Fear." Karma said inwardly.
    "This ice-creating amoeba made me feel fear." Karma said within herself  with a scowl, "I may have been the last one standing but i don't feel like the victor."
   "What a pain." Karma said, "Congratulations, lesser.... No... Dam. Dam of the Kenar tribe, i Karma of the Dreygars acknowledge you."
  "When you recover, feel free to challenge me anytime you like." Karma said as she turns her back to walk away.
    At that moment, Yagura, the Chiefs and many others stared at Karma with astonishment as she was walking away. In that time, Chief Tenya turned towards Lizira and found her still shivering with fear.
    "She still hasn't recovered from what happened earlier." Chief Tenya said within herself, "We have to find Trengal or a new person and she definitely needs to take some time off."
    "This match is over. According to the rules of this tournament, Karma wins!" Chief Tenya said.
    Most of the people in the stand gave a loud cheer; during the time that the audience were cheering, Zarik, Noya and the shopkeeper were still shook.
    "That aura she displayed earlier... What was that?" Noya asked.
   "It looked like a dragon... But a demonic type." Zarik said.
    "Do you know what it reminded me of?" The shopkeeper asked, "The black dragon of calamity Ha'juun."
    "You mean the creature that was partly responsible for the foundation of the Dreygars?" Zarik asked.
     "Yes." The shopkeeper replied,  "Many years ago before Kan was discovered, when all mortal races were ruled with an iron fist, there was a single creature that struck fear in the hearts of all including the oppressors just by saying its name.
    Ha'juun was so powerful that he caught even the attention of the gods and his flames was so devastating that he was capable of burning the heavens. Many say that dragons were creatures born out of magic, some a cosmic blessing but Ha'juun was a creature born solely out of mutation; some even consider him 'evolution gone wrong'.
   However, in having such power, Ha'juun's lifespan was short. According to history, Ha'juun later became friends with Reizo and as a parting gift, he requested Reizo should devour his heart in order to acquire his power and free the others from the oppressors.
   So much power and with Reizo and the other founders acquiring kan, the oppressors didn't stand a chance."
    "Still though, what was up with her eyes?" Noya asked, it looked more dragon-like."
    "So you noticed?" The shopkeeper asked, "She hasn't done the sterilization."
    "Sterilization?" Zarik asked in confusion.
    "It's a kind of ritual the Dreygars performs on their young ones at the age of 14 to cut out their latent dragon power so that they can stay in control of themselves." The shopkeeper said.
    "Latent dragon power? But adult Dreygars have shown their kan abilities. So you are saying they didn't do sterilization?" Zarik asked.
     "No, they did." The shopkeeper replied, "Pay attention to what i said. I said it was to cut out their latent dragon power, meaning once a Dreygar's dragon kan ability should awaken, the sterilization is required to cut out the dormant side of it and the expected age of a Dreygar's awakening is at age 14, because of this, a Dreygar can never reach the full potential of their power.
    The sterilization on a  young Dreygar can be done because their power is still an infant but once their power begins to grow, not only will they be able to reach or surpass the limits of their power, they will also become increasingly unstable, making them a danger to everyone including themselves."
    "But the Dreygar girl's Tyrus isn't truly hers. Meaning she hasn't awakened her dragon abilities." Noya said.
     "Her eyes earlier says it all." The shopkeeper replied, "It has been awoken but she hasn't taken notice of it because she spent her time training with her father's ability."
    "Now it makes more sense on why that Kenar didn't really seem to stand a chance against her." The shopkeeper said inwardly, "My fear for Killer bee has increased."
     Unknown to the people in the stand while they were discussing with each other and some observing the activity in the arena, the cloaked man was levitating in the air with his hands around his chin.
    "I thought i was wrong but now, it seems i was correct." The cloaked man said, "That girl is the successor to the Dragon empress. The other destroyer of worlds.
    How Intriguing. To think that the Two chaos would meet themselves once again..."
     "This puts a smile in my heart." The cloaked man said within himself as he smirks darkly.
     At the stands of the audience, Cloud suddenly felt a presence which instantly made him to look up and see the cloaked man in the air. The cloaked man gazed down at Cloud and as the two locked eyes with each other, the cloaked man's slightly grinned at Cloud.
