Chapter 40: Where It All Began

FLASHBACK
Shawna's POV

"Shawna if you don't hurry I'm going to be late and then I won't get this client," Scooter shouted.

"Who is it anyway?" I asked as I jogged down the stairs. "Is he really that important?"

"Oh believe me," he said. "He's very important. You'll like him."

"Yeah right," I laughed.

"He's adorable, and he's single."

We got in the car.

"Scooter I'm thirteen," I said.

"So is he," Scooter wiggled his eyebrows.

He started driving and when we arrived to the studio I saw a short brunette and a boy beside her.

"Pattie?" Scooter walked up to her.

She smiled and nodded.

"Hi I'm Scooter, hopefully Justin's new manager, it's nice to meet you."

"Hi!" Pattie smiled. "This is Justin." She pointed at the boy beside her who was playing with a Rubik's cube.

Usher walked past me and gave me a high five on his way inside. Justin was instantly mesmerized with the famous R&B singer. Scooter stopped him before he could go see him.

"Don't talk to anyone," Scooter told Justin.

"Usher is my idol," Justin said.

"This is my niece," Scooter said. "Shawna."

"Shawna," Justin repeated and smiled. "Hi, I'm Justin Bieber."

"Nice to meet you," I smiled.

"You too," he licked his lips and flipped his hair quickly.

The golden locks fell perfectly on the side of his face and I felt butterflies in my stomach as I looked at his adorable smile. He shook my hand and continued to smile at me.

"Wow," he whispered under his breath.

"Let's get started, shall we?" Scooter guided us to the elevator.

Justin held my hand and I let go. His eyes followed me as I pressed the button for the door to close. I looked over at Justin from across the elevator and he smiled at me. I smiled back. His adorable white teeth shined and his eyes sparkled. When we got out of the elevator Usher stood next to one of his managers.

"USHER LET ME SING FOR YOU!" Justin yelled to him.

"Hey little man," Usher said. "What's your name?"

"I'm Justin Bieber and you are my idol, I know all of your songs. So can I sing you one?"

"Of course," Usher smiled.

Scooter shook his head and laughed. The five of us went into a room where Justin sang U Got It Bad. Usher stood up and clapped at the end. I caught myself smiling at Justin and he returned it with a wink.

We went to the studio to discuss some things but I wasn't paying attention. The whole time Justin and I sat on the couch together talking about life. Where we wanted to go, who we wanted to share our life with, what we wanted to do, how many kids we wanted. He was a good kid. It wasn't until he started tickling me and pulling my hair that he got annoying. He chased me around and tackled me, taking selfies on my iPhone 4.

He made me laugh but he also made me want to punch him in the throat. After the long meeting Pattie, Justin, Scooter, and I went out for pizza.

"I'm going to be the next big star," Justin told me when we walked outside. "And then you'll regret not being with me."

"Right," I laughed.

Justin hugged me and I wasn't able to hug back before he hopped in the car with his mom. Scooter and I returned to his place. I scrolled through my photos and noticed a screenshot of a note on my phone. Justin put his number with "text me" and a kissy face.

I put his number in my phone and texted him. He responded almost instantly and we spent the rest of the night talking. He wasn't as bad as i thought.
