Chapter 18: Road to Recovery

Shawna's POV
2 weeks later...

"Hey sweet girl!" My nurse, Amy, came in to do my morning check up.

"Hey Amy," I smiled.

"How are you this morning?"

"I'm a little tired, I couldn't sleep last night."

"Well I'm going to take you to get some tests done to make sure you can leave tomorrow."

"Okay," I smiled.

Justin walked in with coffee. He's been here for a few days.

"I'll take that later," I told him. "I have tests."

"Oh see you soon," he kissed me.

I waved and Amy wheeled me down the hall. We went into another room and did some tests. They took about an hour and I was back in my room sipping my coffee with Justin.

"I leave tomorrow," he said.

"I know," I said. "I'll miss you."

"I wish you could come back with me," he said.

"Doctor said I shouldn't travel. Scooter is renting a little house just outside of town for me to recover in before I go back on tour," I said. "I'll be fine."

"I know, I just worry about you though."

"I know you do," I smiled and put my hand on his.

"Alright Shawna," Amy came in. "It looks like you're ready to leave! Your tests showed some irregular heart beats but I will prescribe you with medication that will help. If you have any problems whatsoever do not hesitate to come back."

"Thank you Amy," I smiled and stood up.

I was weak still and Justin helped me walk to the bathroom and I changed into some clothes. I sat down in the wheelchair and Justin wheeled me out. Scooter had the car running when we got to it.

"How are you doing this morning?" He asked as I sat down in the passenger seat.

"I'm good," I smiled.

Justin got in the car and we left. London was sunny today but it wasn't warm.

"Where are my dancers?"

"Not sure, they all kinda went home to be with their families for the six weeks that you're out."

"I was hoping to see them, I miss them." I frowned.

"They'll be back in a few weeks."

We got to the little cottage and when I got inside I turned the lights on. A bunch of people jumped out of no where.

"SURPRISE!"

I jumped and hugged Justin. I started to cry.

"Shawna what's wrong?" Justin asked.

"They scared me," I said.

He laughed a little and pushed my hair out of my face.

"It's okay," he smiled.

I smiled and let go, everyone returned to talking. My dancers were all here. Scooter came inside.

"Surprise!" He said.

I laughed a little.

"It scared her," Justin whispered.

"Stop whispering, I'm right here."

I walked over to Derek and gave him a hug.

"Gosh you scared the shit out of me Shawna," he said.
