Chapter 41: A Year Later

FLASHBACK
Shawna's POV

"Shawna!" Scooter said. "We need your help with this one."

I ran from inside Justin's new home in Georgia and picked up the other side of a heavy box. I saw Justin's messy hair and adorable brown eyes on the other side of the box. When we set the box down in his new room Justin hugged me quickly.

"How's my girlfriend?" He winked.

"I'm not your girlfriend," I pushed him away.

"Well I missed you baby," he licked his lips.

"Justin stoppppp," I laughed. "You're such a weirdo."

"I could be your weirdo," he winked.

I walked out of the room and he slapped my butt.

"JUSTIN!" I screamed.

"Oops," he winked.

"Come on you two!" Scooter said. "We're going out for pizza. You and Justin can get a separate table if you want, since Alfredo and Kenny will be joining us and you two probably have a lot to catch up on."

"That sounds great," Justin put his arm around me.

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay," Scooter chuckled.

Pattie, Scooter, Justin, and I piled into the car and went to Pizza Hut. Justin and I sat down at a table beside Alfredo, Kenny, Scooter, and Pattie.

"So it's been a year," Justin said. "How are you?"

"I'm good," I said. "I'm really good."

"Are we just going to avoid this topic like what happened last time never happened?"

"We could," I said. "I mean you kissed me and then left for a year."

"Doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about you," he said. "You were supposed to text me."

"Well I didn't want to," I said. "I thought maybe if I didn't speak to you then I'd forget about it."

"Why would you want to forget what happened?" He asked.

"Because I had feelings for you," I said. "But it doesn't matter anymore. You're almost famous now, there's going to be plenty of other girls."

"None of them compare to you," he said.

"Whatever," I laughed.

The pizza came to the table and Justin and I ate it. He would occasionally stare at me and smile. I couldn't help but blush. His adorable smile made me smile.

Going back to Scooter's, I couldn't stop thinking about him. He made me laugh a lot and no one else did that. I don't know about this Justin kid, but I like him.
