Ch. 85 Iruka-sensei's monologue!

Akari panted as she lay down on the training field, which was now covered with steam. She craned her neck to the side to look at Minko. 

"You alright there, Minko?"

The kid stared back at her, or at least tried to with all that steam, but Akari could make out from her voice that she practically had stars in her eyes. 

"Akari-san... you and your friend are amazing!"

Akari grinned, looking at Haru, who grinned back at her. 

"That we are," he nodded happily, showing her a thumbs up. 

Ever since the time Akari, Akio and Sara had fought weedie sensei when she had just graduated, Akari had wanted to try out covering an entire area with steam to block the opponent's field of vision.

It would also work well against Sharingan. Even though she had a Sharingan herself, if she were to compare hers with Kakashi-sensei's, Sasuke's ,or Itachi's, all hers really did was predict some moments, and once someone studied about it, they could easily use that against her. 

If she were to block all the Sharingans in an area, then she would suffer the least of the losses. 

Haru lay down on the ground beside her, before looking at his hand. "Our jutsus got stronger. You know, your tiny fire style is way better. And my water-gun improved too! I think that some day it might actually be compatible with your 'Fire Style: Big Balls' jutsu!"

Akari's eyes widened as she sat up and looked at him excitedly. "For real!?"

Haru's water gun was stronger than her normal fire ball, despite her desperate attempts to improve it. So when they wanted to combine their jutsus to produce steam, he had to control his jutsu's power for it to work.

"That would look so cool!" she continued in her excitement. "One second its a small fireball, next second it's a fire tornado, and the next next second it's all steam and you're blind!"

"I know! We should try it once, you know!"

"Woah, you really think it'll work?"

Haru shook his head. "My water gun is nowhere near the fire tornado you create using seals, but I want to see how much more I need to improve."

"We probably need to get Minko and that wolf I hate away."

"Oh yeah, let's do it later then. Till when are you babysitting Akio's sister for free?"

"Don't say it like that, I'm hanging out with her! Until Akio's training ends, I think."

"Genma sensei is back, huh?"

"Yep. Evil toad is getting special training again," she grumbled. "I need Genma sensei to teach me some senbon tricks too, you know?"

"Ah... let's go to him when-"

"Akari?"

Akari stopped short and turned back to try and look at the source of the voice. The steam had started to clear out, and she could see a shadow of a man slowly walking towards her. She stood up.

"Yes?"

She suddenly saw the man produce a huge creature with wings, and the steam was suddenly blown away.

She closed her eyes at the wind, and then opened them to see a pale man standing beside a bird made of... ink?

Creatures made of ink....

Where had she seen that before...?

"I'm sorry to interrupt your little training session, but you need to come with me."
