i was sitting on the couch groaning in pain, holding my stomach. I had been feeling pretty drained for the past couple days. "vinnie!" I yelled. He immediately came running down, and kneeled down in front of me. "what happened?"
"I think my water broke.." i looked up at him. He helped me up, and a puddle fell on the floor. "Don't worry, we'll clean it when we get back." He assured. He grabbed the bag, and helped me in the car. We rushed to the hospital, and they put me in a room. They hooked me up. "I'd say a couple more hours and you'll be ready to give birth." She told me.
I nodded and looked up at vinnie with heavy eyes. "you alright?" He ran his fingers through my hair. I nodded. "are you excited?" My eyes flickered between his. He nodded with a big smile. The longer time went by, the weaker i felt. But i pretended to be strong for vinnie.
*12:30am*
Throughout the night vinnie was there for every contraction. But it was time for me to give birth now. The positioned me, and vinnie wrapped his arm under my leg, and his other hand held onto mine. "You can do it, baby." He kissed my forehead. I began to push.
Vinnie wiped my tears, as I felt weaker than before if that was even possible. "Alright, y/n, another push!" With that, i pushed with everything i had. After 30 minutes they finally pulled her out. "She's here!" They exclaimed, holding her up for me and vinnie to see.
He had a big smile on his face. I knew what was coming.
*vinnies pov*
I was in love. She was so beautiful. Y/n threw her head back breathing heavily. She was shaky and sweaty, but i was so proud of her. "Im so proud of you, my love." She smiled at me weakly, tears running down her face. She wrapped her hand around the back of my neck, pulling me down.
She pressed her lips against mine for a few seconds. "I love you so much.." she said softly, keeping our foreheads together. "I love you so much more, y/n.." i kissed her forehead, her eyes grew heavy, and she pointed for me to see her. I turned my head to see our new baby girl. When I turned back smiling at y/n, her eyes were closed, and i noticed she wasn't breathing. "y/n?" I shook her but she didn't move.
"No no no no" i began to panic. I did mouth to mouth but nothing was working. The doctors rushed over to her. "Sir, you need to leave." They're crazy. "Im not leaving! This is my wife!"
"We understand, but you cannot be in here." They pushed me out. I saw her lifeless body on the bed. I burst into tears, sitting on the floor. They doctor that helped her deliver came out with a cart. I stood up, and she handed me our new baby. "We're doing everything we can.." she assured me, giving me a side hug. "Thank you.." i managed to smile through my tears.
I walked around the floor holding her, talking to her, admiring her. Her eyes opened. She had y/ns beautiful brown eyes. "you got your mommas eyes.." i whispered to her, sniffling. I held her close, sobbing. I didn't want to think this was real. She would squeeze her fists together. I put my finger into her tiny little hand. Her hand wrapped around my finger.
I smiled and kissed her softly. "I love you so much.. and I'll never do anything to disappoint you, and I'll do everything to protect you." I stated, kissing her again. After a couple minutes, the nurse came around the corner and took her to the nursery. I walked back to where they were working on her. I couldn't hear anything. I just sat there with a blank look on my face.
The doctor opened the door. "Sir.." i stood up. He didn't say anything to me, he just led me inside. All the doctors and nurses left. After the door closed i looked up. There she was. She had a smile on her face. I walked over to her so fast, cupping the side of her face, crying. "Are you okay?" I looked at her. She nodded, and kissed me.
"I thought I really lost you.." i kissed her head. I didn't want to let go of her ever again. "You can't get rid of me." She laughed. She scooted over, and patted a spot next to her. "Come lay with me.." she smiled. I laid right next to her. Her head resting against my stomach. "How do you feel?"
"Im not even gonna lie to you, vinnie.. I'm pretty sore down there." She giggled. "I mean you did push a whole kid out of you." I chuckled. "Where is she? Is she okay?" She looked up at me. "She's okay.. she's beautiful.." i kissed the top of her head. Sure enough, they brought her in. They put her in her arms, and she walked out. "I'll be right back." I kissed her.
"Excuse me!" I called from down the hall. "Yes sir?" She looked at me walking closer. "Is she gonna be okay..?" I started to bite at my nails. "Yes. She's going to be okay! After she heals from giving birth it'll be as if nothing happened. You're very lucky, sir." "So she won't.. pass again?"
"Eventually she will, but no sir. She's all good. Her body just couldn't take it.. she mentioned that she had been feeling weak for the past couple days but didn't say anything because she thought it was normal, but her body couldn't handle it. She'll be okay, I promise." She smiled at me and hugged me. "Thank you so much.." i almost cried. She smiled and walked away. I went back in, and saw her crying.
"She's so beautiful.." she smiled. I laid next to her, with my arm above her head. "She looks exactly like you." She stated. "What? No.. she looks like you." She kissed her nose, and she wrapped her small finger around hers. She looked up at me and cried. "She's so cute! I love her so much." I kissed her head, holding both of them close to me.
