why. just why? why couldn't she have left him alone for my sake? it all started 3 years ago. i met vinnie and we exchanged numbers. he came over one day. we weren't dating, but we liked each other and talked about getting together. she had come over and they introduced themselves. apparently while I went to the bathroom they had exchanged numbers.

ever since then, they started talking. and before i knew it, he picked her. why wasn't it me? she had to have everything. she couldn't let me be happy. I loved him. and she knew that. it was currently 1am, and all the bridesmaids were sleeping in one hotel room. but i couldnt sleep. my so called best friend was marrying him. vinnie. i stared at the white wall, holding back tears. i quietly got up, and headed down to the bar. I didn't drink and didn't plan on it. i kinda just sat there.

"you look like you need a drink." the woman behind the bar said. "no i don't drink. but it has been a tough night." i explained. "im all ears girl!" i told her everything. "what the hell!" she yelled, making me laugh. "yeah." i said. "and you're still friends with her why?" her eyes were wide. "we grew up together. she's always been by my side." "she's literally betraying you in every way possible!"

i sighed. "i know."

*the next day, 5:30pm*

I watched her walk down the aisle. i turned to look at vinnie. my heart broke. he had the biggest smile on his face. as she was saying i do, he looked behind her and made eye contact with me. i didn't realize my eyes watered, his smile dropped, but once his eyes landed back on her, a smile formed on his face. it was supposed to be me. i was supposed to be marrying him. not her.

once it was over, everyone headed to the reception. It truly was beautiful.

everyone was talking, and the bride was somewhere. I was outside in the cold, crying softly. "y/n?" the soft sweet voice that used to speak to me years ago that now only speaks to her. I turned around. "what are you doing out here?" i asked. "what are you doing out here? it's freezing!" he removed his jacket and put it over me. "you're gonna get sick." he said as i just stared up at him. "why are you staring at me like that?"

"no.. it's your big day. don't worry about me, go inside and have fun." i said. "no, y/n. what's wrong with you?" he spoke softly. "why did you choose her?" my voice was soft, and also breaking. "what do you mean?" he furrowed his eyebrows. "i thought it was me. you picked her. my best friend."

"im sorry y/n.. but.. it was different with her. you'll find someone." he nodded. "you don't understand vinnie. i was in love with you. you came after me and chose her in the end. what was so wrong with me?" i asked, tears falling down my face. "nothing... you were perfect." then why wasn't it me? why am i the one in a dark green dress instead of white. why am I wearing a dark green dress instead of having glitter all over my white dress. why do i have no ring on my finger, when i deserve to.

my eyes suddenly snapped open. "you didn't sleep very long." he chuckled. i was in his arms. "what time is it?" i asked, rubbing my eyes. "12:30am. you fell asleep at 11pm." he smiled at me. it was us. i was the one in white. i got the ring. i had the glitter on my dress. i had the beautiful reception. i got him. he chose me. we were on our honeymoon.

I straddled him and hugged him. "did you sleep good?" he asked. i looked at him. "if you ever choose my best friend over me, i will kill you." i stated. "that will never happen but, noted." he laughed, and grabbed my chin gently and pulled me in for a long deep kiss. it was me. i was the one. im on the honeymoon now.
