"You think leaving for a few days is going to help this marriage?" Y/n yelled at vinnie. For the past month they've done nothing but argue. "I don't see how us talking it out could make it any better. We sleep with a pillow in between us! We're supposed to be talking it out now and we're not. We're arguing." He stated.
"What are you gonna do when Nicole wakes up and wonders where daddy is huh?" Tears welled up in her eyes. Nicole was their 3 year old daughter. "It's not like im leaving forever, y/n." He said lowly. "How long are you gonna be gone?" She crossed her arms, nervous to hear his answer. It was 11pm, late for them.
"I don't know. Maybe a 4 days. We need time away from each other." He said, grabbing his keys. "Vinnie please don't do this." She couldn't help it and cried. "It's for the best y/n. We're not breaking up or divorcing okay?"
She nodded. "I'll be back. I love you." Vinnie said, planting a kiss on her forehead. "I love you." She whispered loud enough for him to hear. He put his head down and left. Once he closed the door, she locked it. She knew there was nothing she could do to stop him from leaving. Y/n went upstairs, and laid on her side of the bed with her eyes open. She couldn't seem to close them. What was she gonna tell their daughter? With enough thought, she finally closed her eyes.
*The next morning*
Nicole came running in their room, jumping on the bed, waking up y/n. "Good morning baby." Y/n smiled at her. "Mommy where's daddy..?" Nicole asked with a frown. "Daddy went to go sleep at his friends after you went to bed." Y/n said, holding back tears. "But today's his birthday." She put her head down and sounded sad.
"I know baby. We're gonna have dinner with him and his friends tonight remember?" She chuckled. "Oh." Nicole smiled. "Can we call him?" Y/n nodded, grabbing her phone and unlocking it. She clicked on her calls, and found vinnies name. She clicked on it, and handed it to Nicole. It ran twice before vinnie noticed and picked up his phone. "Hello?" He spoke into the phone. "Daddy!" Nicole gasped with a smile.
A big smile grew on vinnies face when he heard her voice. "Hi baby." He smiled. "Happy birthday daddy."
"Thank you very much." He laughed. He already missed his girls.
*Later that night, 6:49pm*
The dinner was at a fancy restaurant but no one dressed up fancy. Y/n wore something cute and simple. And so did Nicole. And vinnie. And the rest of his friends. Y/n opened the door and saw vinnie standing there, next to their booth talking to his friends with his h I ands in his pocket. "Daddy!" Nicole yelled, making his head turn and a big smile form on his face. She ran over to him, and he crouched down, and she jumped in his arms. Vinnie stood up straight, to his full height and had his arms wrapped around her. He kissed Nicole's cheek.
"I missed you!" She said. "I missed you too." He smiled at her. Y/n walked over to his and vinnie smiled, holding his arm out. She walked into his arm, and his arm attached to her waist and he kissed her head. They sat down at the booth, y/n next to vinnie and Nicole on his lap. Y/n was next to his friends and on the other side of the booth were more of his friends. He looked over at y/n.
"Happy birthday baby." Y/n smiled to him. "Thank you. I love you so much." He said, pecking her lips. "I love you." She smiled. In that moment, she felt like they were normal. Y/n and vinnie got the same meal. And Nicole was gonna share with them. Vinnie held y/n close to him. Either had his hand on her thigh, her waist, or her hand. With his other arm securing Nicole.
Once they finished dinner, the waiter and waitress came around with a nice cake. Nicole was still in vinnies lap. It had beautiful candles on it lit beautifully. They all recorded and sang happy birthday. Including y/n. When it was time to blow out his candles, he looked down at Nicole and then y/n. "Blow them with me." He mouthed to her and whispered to Nicole. They all three leaned in, capturing a beautiful picture and they all blew out the candles.
*2:38am*
A loud thunder shook the whole house. And just as you guessed it, vinnie didn't go home with y/n. It woke up Nicole, and she started screaming and crying. But only for y/n. She was upset enough that her daddy didn't go home. Nicole didn't like loud noises. She kept screaming and crying "mommy" until y/n woke up. She sat up and threw the covers off, running to her room.
When she walked in, Nicole was sitting up with her arms out and up wanting y/n to pick her up. Y/n put her hands under Nicole's arms, and gently lifting her up. Nicole's arms wrapped around y/ns neck. "What's the matter baby?" Y/n asked, patting her back as she walked back to her bedroom. "Loud noise." Is all she let out, and kept her arms wrapped around y/n. Y/n sat down on the bed, and laid Nicole on vinnies side.
Once she slowed down her crying, she spoke up. "I miss daddy." She rubbed her eyes. Y/n sighed, and ran her hands over her hair. "Me too baby." Y/n sighed. "Wanna call him when you wake up in the morning?"
"Yeah." She sniffled, and wiped her tears away.
*1 week later*
Nicole started to give up when daddy was gonna come home. She stopped wanting to call, and she slept with y/n every night. Y/n accidentally fell asleep on the couch, with Nicole on y/ns bed. With pillows on both sides of her so she wouldn't roll off. Vinnie regretted his decision and wanted to make things right with y/n and his little girl. When he unlocked the door, y/ns eyes opened, but vinnie was already inside.
She quickly sat up, her mother instincts kicking in. When she saw vinnie, she dropped the remote she was gonna use as a weapon. "Vinnie?" She whispered, in shock that he was home. Her eyes watered as he pulled out two sets of flowers from behind his back. She jumped over the couch, and wrapped her arms around his neck. He set the flowers down, and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry baby." He said, kissing her head. "Please forgive me. Im sorry I left you and Nicole instead of talking things out."
She pulled away, and kissed him. "I love you." He said. "I love you." She replied. "Daddy!" Nicole yelled, and ran downstairs. "Hi baby." He sniffled, and crouched down as she jumped in his arms. "You came back." She said. "I'm never leaving my girls again. I love you both very much." He said, kissing Nicole's cheek, and then y/ns. "Let's talk about it tomorrow morning while she's still asleep." Vinnie whispered in y/ns ear. She nodded. "Okay let's go to bed." Vinnie said. They were gonna be okay.
