Today was y/ns wedding day. She was feeling many things, and one of them was excitement. As she was putting on her dress she looked in the hotel mirror.
"what is it?" her best friend, natalie, asked her. "nothing." she sighed, looking at her hair. "what if he doesn't like it?"
"girl that man loves you. He'll love it."
a little bit of a backstory, y/n and vinnie dated for 5 1/2 years. He was her first love. Her first everything. Date, sex, kiss, etc. but one day, they got into an argument. It started small, but quickly grew. It turned into both of them yelling and cussing at each other until 3:30am. They both called it quits and vinnie was moved out that same night.
It took her a while for her to heal, but that's where Josh came in. The guy she was about to marry. Strange part is when she put on the dress, vinnie popped into her mind. This wasn't a first time thing. She's been thinking about him everyday for the past 3 years.
Her and Josh never had sex, she felt she was doing something wrong. Yet she doesn't know why she's marrying him. Well, for the past 2 years natalie told her vinnie was never coming back.
Her family.. you could say liked Josh but knew he wasn't the one for her. Her parents weren't being bad parents when they asked her last night, "are you sure this is what you want?" She took a deep breath and nodded. She convinced herself vinnie wasn't coming back.
She wrapped her arm around her dads, and began walking down the isle. She was so into her head she thought she was marrying vinnie, but when she turned the corner it was Josh. Her smile faded but put it back on when over 70 people were staring at her.
Her dad was hesitant to give her hand to him but he just wanted what was best for her. Everyone took their seats. A few minutes had passed and it was time to say I do.
"do you, Josh, take y/n to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health till death parts you?"
"I do." He smile down at me.
"Do you, y/n, take Josh to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health until death parts you?"
She looked in his eyes. But was quickly drawn away when she saw him.
vinnie.
What's he doing here?
In vinnies mind, he's hurt seeing her about to marry another man. He just stood there, tears down his face, hands in pocket. Everyone turned and knew. Weirdly, everyone left and went inside the hotel, looking out the window.
Josh looked at y/n. "It was always him wasnt it?"
She nodded. "Im so sorry.."
"Hey, it's fine." He wiped her tears away. He walked away with a smile on his face. Once she saw him fully leave, she took off her heels throwing them to the side and running up to vinnie, crying.
She jumped on him, and vinnie wrapped his arms around her tightly. "It's always been you." She cried, kissing him.
Everyone from inside started cheering and clapping as he spun her around. It was like something you'd see out of a movie. "I love you." Vinnie said, holding y/n close to him.
"I love you vinnie."
"You look beautiful.." he wiped his tears off his face. "thank you.. but if we get married then I have to change dresses." I joked but not really.
"you mean when we get married."
she got on her tippy toes and kissed him.
