Chapter 4

When Namjoon and Taehyung arrived at the station, they sat at their desk to go over the evidence that they have gathered so far.

Namjoon: Let's see if we can make any sense of this. What do we know?

Taehyung: We know that the victims are related. They were dismembered.

Namjoon: Amber according to her parents didn't have any enemies.

Taehyung: She was not dating or in a current relationship since the death of the boys' father.

Namjoon: Did the father ever mention the boys' father's name?

Taehyung: No, he didn't, and he did not tell us when he died.

Namjoon: Well, since he is unfortunately deceased, we can rule him out as a suspect.

Taehyung: But it is strange though.

Namjoon: What?

Taehyung: Amber did not have any photos of him in her house. Why is that? I have never encountered a case where there is not a photo of all family members. Wouldn't she want her sons to remember their father? Especially the young one?

Namjoon: That is a very good point. It seems that the relationship between Amber and the boys' father was off.

Taehyung: Did you notice something strange at Amber's parents' house?

Namjoon: What do you mean?

Taehyung: The mother cried, but her father did not shed a tear. It was like he was holding back his emotions.

Namjoon: Now that you mentioned it, he did not cry at all. Not even a silent tear.

Taehyung: He was too calm and did not struggle at all in answering our questions. It seems to me that this family relationship is not picture perfect.

Namjoon: You think the parents are hiding something from us?

Taehyung: I do. I think there is something with the father. Fathers are very protective of their daughters especially when it comes to men. This father seems to not have a strong father daughter relationship. Why?

Namjoon: Alright, the father daughter relationship is disconnected, but would the father kill his only daughter and grandsons?

Taehyung: I don't think so, but we probably need to investigate the family a little more. But let's move on from the family for a moment and let's look at the drugs here.

Namjoon: I used to work in narcotics before coming here.

Taehyung: Really?

Namjoon: Yes. I have never seen drugs bagged like this before. I keep in touch with my former partner. Let me give him a call. He can help us from the drugs angle. (Pulls out his phone and makes a quick call).

Namjoon: Hello? How are you doing Jin?

Jin: Ahhhh, Namjoon! I'm good man. How about you?

Namjoon: I'm doing fine, Jin. Listen, I need your help.

Jin: My help? Sure, what do you need?

Namjoon: My partner and I are working on a triple homicide case and there were drugs that were found in two of our victims.

Jin: What kind of drugs?
