Chapter 6

Detective Jin and Namjoon went to the last known address for Lin. Jin told Namjoon that he found out that the apartment was not under Lin's name, it was under the name of Ming Mason. The apartment was leased 8 months ago. Not only that the social security number does not come back as Ming Mason, but as Amber Li. Namjoon looked puzzled because the victim had a house why would she need an apartment? Jin and Namjoon went upstairs and knocked on the door. There was no answer, and the next-door neighbor came out and saw the detectives. Jin had Lin's mug shot and asked the man had he seen Lin.

The man looked at the picture and told the detectives that he had seen Lin at a bar 6 blocks up the street. Jin and Namjoon went to the bar and found the bartender.

Namjoon: Excuse us sir. Can we talk to you for a second?

Bartender: Yes. (Jin and Namjoon flash their badges). I'm Jungkook. How can I help you?

Jin: We are here looking for this person. Have you seen him? (Jin showing the picture)

Jungkook: Yes, he is over there at the end of the bar. (Pointing to Lin)

Namjoon: Thank you, sir.

Jungkook heads towards the back as Jin and Namjoon approach Lin, who noticed them approaching him.

Jin: Lin?

Lin: Who the hell wants to know?

Namjoon: We are detectives investigating a crime and would like to ask you some questions.

Lin: Whatever it is, I am not involved. If you don't mind, I would like to finish my drink in peace.

Namjoon: Look you can come down to the station to answer our questions or just answer them right here right now and we will be out of your hair.

Jin: He doesn't have that much hair.

Namjoon: Jin. (Giving a serious look)

Lin: You guys are killing my vibe. What do you want to know?

Namjoon: Where you were on December 14th?

Lin: (Looking at Namjoon). Why?

Jin: Come on now everyone knows what they were doing a couple of days ago if they are innocent of any wrongdoing. (Lin gave Jin a sharp look then rolled his eyes). Better yet where were you last night? (Lin continuing to drink his beer)

Lin: You both can go straight to hell for all I care.

Lin got up and punched Jin. Namjoon grabbed Lin and slammed him to the ground while breaking a couple of chairs. Jungkook ran out from the back and saw Namjoon placing the cuffs on Lin and escorting him out of the bar. Jungkook went from behind the bar and helped Jin up. Jin thanked him and left. Jungkook returned to the back of the bar and made a phone call.

Taehyung: Hello?

Jungkook: Taehyung.

Taehyung: Yes, love what's up? I'm working.

Jungkook: Two detectives came to the bar and arrested someone.

Taehyung: What? Why? Was there a disturbance there? Love, are you hurt? Do I need to come and get you?

Jungkook: What? No. No, honey, I'm fine. I was in the back stocking when I heard the commotion going on. I am assuming assault since the guy did punch one of the detectives.

Taehyung: Oh really?

Jungkook: Yeah, they showed me a photo of a man that was here, and they wanted to question him.

Taehyung: (Feeling uneasy). Love, listen to me. I'm working on a dangerous case and that arrest could possibly be the person we are looking for. I need you to be careful.

Jungkook: Honey, I am careful, don't worry.

Taehyung: Still love. It is dangerous. Be on high alert and I will see you tonight when I am off.

Jungkook: Okay see you then. (Ends the call).

After arriving back to homicide, Jin and Namjoon put Lin in the interrogation room. They went to Captain Min Yoongi to give him an update on what happened.

Min Yoongi: Namjoon, I sent Taehyung to Internal Affairs to see if he can find anything else to the connection of the missing drugs being intertwined in our case. Find out what you can from him.

Namjoon: Yes, sir.

Min Yoongi: Jin, you are more than welcome to take part in the interrogation. Since it looks like he hit you pretty good.

Jin: Thank you, sir. I will and report any information to my Captain that pertains to the drugs.

Min Yoongi bowed and watched the interrogation from behind the window. Jin and Namjoon went inside the room and laid out the photos of the crime scenes and the drugs that were found in the victims.

Namjoon: We can charge you with not only assaulting an officer, but for these drugs and murders.

Lin: I did not kill anyone! How many times do I have to tell you fucking idiots that?!

Jin: Look here! You were positively identified for the assault of Paul Moon aka Ghost and me! You cannot deny assaulting me!

Lin: You pissed me off and ruined my drinking!

Jin: You punk!

Namjoon: Hey! Enough! Look, we know that you assaulted Ghost. He gave us you. Now explain to me why a drug dealer would name you as the person who attacked him and left him for dead.

Lin: Listen! Okay!

Jin: Okay what?

Lin: I really don't like you.

Jin: I don't care! Answer the questions unless you want to continue to spend some more quality time with me.

Lin: Fuck that no way!

Namjoon: Talk!!

Lin: Ghost got into trouble with the boss man. I am not confessing to assaulting Ghost or the murders. You guys have no idea who you are going up against.

Namjoon: Who are we up against? (Lin taking a deep breath and sighing). Who is Ming Mason? (Lin froze for a second and became quiet and fidgeted with terror in his eyes.)

Jin: Lin? (Lin looks at him with intense terror in his eyes).

Namjoon: Is Ming Mason the boss of the drug organization? Did he order the hit on Ghost and the victims? (Lin gave no response).

Jin: We can offer you protection. You said that you did not assault Ghost, however he said that you did. You said that you did not murder the victims. Did you witness the murder of the victims and were threatened to keep quiet? (Lin's body language completely changes)

Lin: (Shaking) No more talking. I want a lawyer. I want a lawyer now!

Jin and Namjoon left the interrogation room and met with Min Yoongi. Min Yoongi told Jin and Namjoon to let Lin call his lawyer and go search Lin's place for clues. Min Yoongi called to get a warrant issued while Lin was still in custody.
