When You Need Us - Salvatores

Damon and Stefan have been telling me for days now that I seemed down in the dumps. Which, I mean, they aren't wrong, but I thought I hid it better than I obviously did. But I still played it off like I didn't know what they were talking about. That was until Damon cornered me as I was walking to my room.

"What aren't you telling me?" Damon asked as he pinned me up against the wall.

"What are you talking about, D? You know I tell you and Stefan everything." I said after groaning from the impact of my head and the wall.

"No, you don't." Said the voice of the younger Salvatore, coming up from behind his brother. "We all know that."

"Come on, Stef. Whose side are you on?" I questioned as I struggled to get out of Damon's grasp.

"At the moment, Damon's because there is something obviously wrong and you just aren't telling anyone what it is." Stefan said and crossed his arms across his chest.

"Can't hide anything from you guys, can I?" I questioned in defeat and sighed.

"Nope." Damon said with a small victory smirk. "Now, what's going on in that amazingly stubborn head of yours?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and moved away from the wall, letting me out of the jail that his arms had created.

"Nothing's necessarily wrong, really. Just been overthinking a lot of things." I confessed as I opened the door to my bedroom and sat on my bed.

The two brothers followed me in, Stefan sitting on the bed with me and Damon in the armchair that I had in the corner.

"What are you overthinking?" Stefan asked.

"A lot. School, everything going on with my brother, dad's death anniversary is coming up soon and just a lot overall."

"What's going on with the little wolf?" Damon questioned with a furrowed brow.

I sighed and leaned back against my headboard. "He's talking about going after Klaus again. I see it as nothing but nonsense but Tyler sees it as a necessary action. He's not thinking straight and no I'm not quite either but I'm not running after the original hybrid like it's just another Monday."

"Remind me how you and him are related again." Damon said.

"He's my half-brother. Mom had me before she met dad and then when they got married he adopted me." I explained.

"Right. So, big sister got turned into a vampire and little brother is a werewolf who now has big sister's qualities. Got it." He said dumbing it down for himself.

"Sometimes I question myself on why I put up with you." I say and make my mouth form a straight line.

Damon gave me one of his playful smiles and said, "Because I'm one of your best friends and you love me."

Stefan and I simultaneously rolled our eyes at his statement. "Anyway... you don't need to be worried about any of it. You are two weeks away from graduating from college. Tyler? He's grown and although he'll always need his big sister looking out for him, he's going to do whatever he wants to do. You can't stop him from that. As far as your dad's death anniversary goes, Damon and I will try to keep your mind as far away from that as we possibly can. You don't have to go through any of this alone in your head, (Y/N/N). That's what we're here for." Stefan said as he took my hand.

I nodded. "Yeah, I know, but there are going to be times when you guys won't be around so I am preparing for those times when I have to go at it alone for a little while. I wasn't trying to push you guys away or anything like that but I have accepted that sometimes I am going to have to get through all the obstacles in my head without anyone. I mean, I'm still getting used to having other people to talk to besides Ty again."

"We understand that, (Y/N/N)." Damon spoke up. "But we're only a phone call away. Whenever you need us, just call. No matter what we are doing, we can wait for you."

I smiled at them. "I really do appreciate all that you have done for Ty and I. Even though Tyler seems to get himself into the trouble he gets in by himself." I said with a laugh. "But I can handle myself, most of the time anyway."

"Well, when you can't, you know where to find us." Stefan said.

"I'll be sure to come find you guys when I need you." I reassured them and smiled.
