Jeremy Gilbert sat on the porch of the Gilbert house, his brows furrowed in deep thought as he watched the sun dip below the horizon. The events of the past few weeks had been nothing short of a supernatural rollercoaster, and he couldn't help but wonder how she managed to handle it all with such calm composure.
YN YLN, a close friend of his and Elena, had been living in Mystic Falls for some time now, and she had seen her fair share of vampire drama. Though, none of it seemed to ever faze her. She stepped onto the porch, her presence breaking Jeremy out of his trans.
"Hey," she greeted him with a warm smile. "Lost in thought?"
Jeremy sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, just trying to wrap my head around all of this. Vampires, witches, and everything in between. It's like my life turned into a supernatural soap opera overnight."
YN giggled, taking a seat beside him. "I get it, Jer. It can be overwhelming at first, but for me, it's like a normal Tuesday."
Jeremy raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "A normal Tuesday? Seriously?"
The YHC haired girl nodded, her eyes reflecting the wisdom of someone who had grown up in the midst of the supernatural. "Yeah, you see, I come from a long line of hunters. My family has been dealing with this stuff for generations. So, vampires, werewolves, witches - it's all just part of my everyday life."
His eyes widened in surprise. "You're a hunter?"
She nodded again, her expression serious. "I was, for a while. But I stepped away from it to find some normalcy. Still, the supernatural world has a way of finding you, especially when you live in Mystic Falls."
Jeremy couldn't help but admire YN's resilience. "So, how do you stay so calm about it all? I mean, you act like dealing with vampires is no big deal."
The gentle girl beside him smiled, her eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief. "Well, when you've faced down ancient vampires and battled powerful witches, regular vampires don't seem so intimidating. Plus, it's all about perspective. To me, it's just another day in the life."
Jeremy couldn't help but chuckle at her response. "I guess I have a lot to learn, then."
YN patted his shoulder affectionately. "Don't worry, Jer. You'll get the hang of it. And in the meantime, you've got me to help guide you through all of the chaos."
As they sat there on the porch, Jeremy began to feel a sense of reassurance. With YN by his side, he knew he had someone who understood the supernatural world like the back of her hand. And as they shared stories and anecdotes, he realized that in Mystic Falls, nothing was ever truly normal, but with friends like her, it could at least be manageable.
