The Salvatore boarding house was unusually quiet that evening. The air was thick with tension as Damon paced back and forth in the dimly lit living room. He couldn't shake the worry that gnawed at him, his thoughts consumed by the well-being of his girl.
Damon and YN had been inseparable for over a hundred years, their bond forged through countless adventures and shared secrets. They shared something the rest of their friend group couldn't fathom to explain even if they were to try. Recently, their relationship had taken an unexpected turn when they both confessed their feelings for each other. They had been trying to keep their newfound romance a secret, afraid of how it might affect their dynamic and the delicate balance of their group of friends.
But now, YN was missing, well not missing really. He knew exactly where she had been taken and who took her. It was the how he was supposed to get her back he was worried about.
As the elder Salvatore paced his younger brother, Stefan entered the room, his brow furrowed with concern as he caught his eye on his brother still walking back and forth in front of the fireplace just as he left him doing an hour beforehand. "Damon, you've been pacing for hours. What's going on? Where's YN?"
Damon stopped in his tracks, his blue eyes locking onto Stefan's. "Klaus managed to grab her when I wasn't paying attention."
Stefan's expression darkened, and he clenched his fists. "Klaus? How did that happen?"
Damon ran a hand through his tousled hair, his frustration clear. "It's a long story, but right now, I would like to just focus on getting her back."
Stefan's gaze softened as he realized the gravity of the situation. "Okay, Damon. We'll find her. Is there something going on between you and her that I should know how? Because you used to say that she'd be okay until we got there to save her, that she could handle it on her own. Now you're pacing the floor like a puppy dog that doesn't know what to do without their owner."
Damon hesitated, his feelings for YN laid bare. "There's a lot to unpack in what just came out of your mouth little brother. But if you must know, and hopefully it'll get us to a plan sooner rather than later, YNN and I have been dating for a few weeks."
Stefan's eyes widened in surprise, but then he nodded slowly. "I'll save the congrats for finally getting up the balls to ask her out after a hundred or so years for later. But for now, let's get your girl back before it's too late to save her from the snarky idea of ripping one of our heads off for not getting there sooner."
Damon chuckled slightly at his comment about YN wanting to rip them apart for making her stay any more time with Klaus than she felt she had too. Bu he would be lying if he said that there wasn't a weight lifted off his shoulders just by informing his little brother of the newly formed dynamic of his and the YLN girl's relationship. He knew that Stefan and the others had been waiting and betting on when it was going to happen. "Yeah, let's do that."
The moon hung low in the night sky as Damon, Stefan, and Ric sped through the darkened streets of Mystic Falls, determined to rescue YN from the clutches of Klaus. The urgency of their mission weighed heavily on their minds, and the tension in the car was palpable.
Stefan, his jaw clenched, broke the silence. "We need a plan. Do you have any idea where Klaus might be keeping her?" He questioned as he looked over at his brother who sat in the driver's seat of the Camaro.
Damon glanced over at Stefan for a quick second before turning his attention back onto the strip of pavement in front of them. "Oh, I know exactly where they are. He didn't plan too much before kidnapping her and took her straight to his place."
Ric, who had been listening intently from the backseat, chimed in, "If that's the case, we need to be prepared for anything. Klaus won't make it easy. Not when he's in his own place. A place that he knows better than anyone else."
As they approached the Mikaelson's mansion, the eerie silence of the night was broken by the distant sounds of music and laughter emanating from the extravagant party taking place within. It was as if Klaus reveled in his wicked games. But the older Salvatore could hear the labor panting and the held back screaming of his beloved somewhere within its walls. The thought of what the hybrid could have had his little minions doing to YN made his blood boil over.
Damon parked the car a short distance away, hidden in the shadows. "Alright, here's the plan. Stefan, you take the front entrance. Ric, you cover the back. I'll create a diversion."
Stefan nodded; his eyes steely with determination. "Got it."
Ric adjusted his weapon and checked his stakes. "On it."
Damon, his confidence unwavering, flashed a cocky grin. "Time for the sone of a bitch to get a taste of his own medicine."
As they split up, the plan was set into motion. Stefan approached the grand front entrance, his vampire speed allowing him to blend in with the guests seamlessly. He kept his eyes peeled for any sign of YN, but he couldn't find any.
Ric, on the other hand, stealthily made his way to the back of the mansion, taking cover in the shadows. He knew that his best bet was to catch the crowd of vampires by surprise. The man had been suited up with vervain bombs, his crossbow at the ready with a stake already loaded waiting for him to pull that trigger
Damon, ever the showman, sauntered into the party, immediately drawing attention. He grinned at the guests, sipping champagne and pretending to be just another reveler. But his true mission was to distract Klaus long enough for Stefan and Ric to find YN.
Inside the mansion, Stefan's vampire senses led him to a locked room on the upper floor. With a swift kick, he burst through the door, his heart racing as he saw YN bound and gagged. Relief washed over him as he rushed to untie her.
Meanwhile, Ric was busy taking out Klaus's henchmen who had been guarding the back entrance. His combat skills and vampire-hunting experience gave him the upper hand, and he made quick work of the threats.
Back at the party, Damon had successfully engaged Klaus in conversation, diverting his attention away from the unfolding rescue operation. He knew he was playing a dangerous game, but he would do whatever it took to save YN.
With YN freed and Ric taking care of Klaus's goons, Stefan and YN made their way to the front of the mansion. They reunited with Damon, who had finally managed to distract Klaus long enough for their escape.
As they sped away from the mansion, the weight of the night's events began to sink in. YN, safe and sound, couldn't help but look at Damon with a newfound appreciation.
"Thank you," she said softly, her hand finding his. Her grasp weak as she was still healing from all that had been done. "I knew you guys would save me."
Damon's lips tugged themselves into a gentle smile. "I'll always come to save my girl." He said as he kissed the top of her head. "Let's get you home."
