Being here in New Orleans is highly different than being in Mystic Falls. Do I miss Mystic falls and get homesick more often than I should? Most definitely. But I do love it here and I knew what I was getting myself into when I agreed to follow Klaus when he asked me to come with him. I no longer have to worry about the things going on back at home. No longer have to worry about Elena's safety. Not that I don't care about Elena, but one can only handle her being the damsel in distress so much.
Don't get me wrong there's a lot more to worry about here because of... well because Klaus is here but I'm not so much worried about my own safety in the process of everything because I know the Mikaelsons would protect me with everything they have way before probably anyone in Mystic Falls would.
Now I sat out on my balcony and looked out onto the streets of New Orleans. It was actually very peaceful out today no doubt Klaus' enemies are out planning some sort of attack for later on but peaceful, nonetheless. The sun was shining bright and you could hear the smooth music coming from the trumpet player down the street. couldn't help but to sway to the smooth tune myself.
Lost in my own little world, I didn't hear my name being called out from outside my bedroom door. It wasn't until the sound of the door opening caught my attention that I came to know of Klaus' presence in the room behind me.
"Had me worried for a moment there, love." He said as he walked out to the balcony and stood beside me.
I turned back towards the street and returned my weight to the railing as I leaned against it. "Sorry, I seemed to be lost in my own little world."
Klaus leaned against the railing as well and smiled. "No need to apologize, love. It is a nice day out."
"That it is. Beautiful and peaceful." I sighed contently and laid my head upon his shoulder. "A very nice change from the chaos that's been going on."
He wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed my head. "Couldn't agree with you more."
The two of us stood there for a moment just listening to the sounds of all that surrounded us. We didn't get to do this all too often. Hell, we didn't get to spend much time alone together all too often either.
"Have you thought about my proposal any more since yesterday morning?" Klaus questioned as he laid his head on top of mine.
"Turning me?" I questioned and I could feel him nod against the top of my head. "It's been a reoccurring thought since then. I'm not against it like I was when Damon offered back home a few years ago but I'm still not all for it." I explained as my eyes watched over Davina and Kol as they strolled down the street.
I could tell Klaus knew what I was looking at when his grip on my waist tightened slightly. He knew I envied what his brother had with the young witch and he tried to recreate that for me the best that Niklaus Mikaelson could. Klaus wasn't normally this content with showing his feelings with anyone else, but with me he's not scared to show the soft and tender side of him. Always told me it was because I was different from anyone else and had got to know him on a level that no one else could reach without even trying. That was even before we left Mystic Falls.
"Take your time thinking about it, love. There's absolutely no rush." He said and readjusted to where he was standing behind me and wrapped his arms around me.
I melted into his hold and rested my head against his shoulder. "I'm not saying no, Nik. I'm just saying that I'm still not all for being a vampire. I remember what all Caroline went through when she was first turned and that scares me." I confessed and looked up at him.
He looked down at me and gave me a reassuring smile. "(Y/N), you are different than Caroline all the way around so you will undoubtedly have a different experience than she did. Even if you don't, I'll be right here with you through the whole thing. You have nothing to worry about, love."
I gave him a slight smile back. "I'm still trying to decipher why Niklaus Mikaelson is all willing to turn little ole me or what made him take interest in me at all."
The vampire chuckled slightly and then kissed the top of my head. "You're different than anyone I had ever met before you. Never once tried to kill me, not that you could..."
"Ye of little faith, Niklaus." I interrupted him with a small giggle.
Klaus chuckled once again then continued. "Anyway, you took the time to get to know me and truly know me. No one had really taken the time to really talk to me as a civil human being. Piqued my interest in the small girl apart of this group that was determine to sign my death warrant." His eyes went to back trailing down the street below us as people walked by. "The best thing that has ever happened to me."
