Summary: You're practicing your singing when you get interrupted

Warnings: None

Author's Note: Nothing besides the fact that I really like Jesse and he would be my ideal boyfriend.

I make my way through campus to the auditorium, I look around at all the students milling around and enjoying the nice weather and I take in all the couples walking hand in hand and I can't help but let out a sigh. I make my way inside the building containing the auditorium and happily make my way through the halls glad to have some alone time to practice my singing.

I step into the auditorium and thankfully it's empty. I make my way up to the stage and stand in the middle. I loved to sing but I was too shy to sing in front of people. I run through a few vocal warm ups and once I'm satisfied I begin to sing. I sing through some of my favorite songs and have just finished singing y/f/s when I hear someone clapping. I notice that there's someone walking up the main isle of the auditorium and I start feeling self conscious as he gets closer.

Once he's right at the front of the stage I am able to see that he has dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. I nervously begin playing with my fingers not used to being talked to by cute guys. He comes up on the stage and says, "You have a lovely voice." I mumble out a quick thank you before I ask, "What do you want?" He replies, "Oh I was actually just walking through the halls when I heard someone singing so I had to come see who it was." I nod, and both of us are quiet for a moment before he says, "Oh I'm sorry. I'm Jesse." I smile lightly before saying, "I'm Y/N." He smiles at me before he asks, "So have you thought about joining one of the a cappella groups on campus?" I shake my head frantically before I state, "I don't sing in front of people." He looks surprised before asking, "Why not?" I reply, while looking down at my feet slightly embarrassed, "Well I don't like to sing in front of people." He doesn't say anything just lets the silence linger for a moment before exclaiming, "What?" I blush harder feeling more embarrassed than before and quickly say, "I should get going." Before getting off the stage and walking out of the auditorium.

Over the next few days I continue to go to the auditorium by myself to continue singing and every so often I see Jesse at the back of the auditorium. Every so often I talk to him but not much until one day.

I'm walking back to my dorm not paying attention to where I am going when I bump into someone. I stutter out, "I'm sorry." Before looking up into the dark brown eyes of Jesse and I feel my cheeks flame. I look at the ground and he says, "You're fine." Neither of us say anything until he says, "Listen I was wondering if you would consider auditioning for one of the a cappella groups on campus." I go to say, "You know I don't..." But before I can finish he says, "I know but what if I helped you get over that fear." I stop for a moment to consider his offer before I say, "You have a deal." We talk for a little longer and set up our first meeting.

The days turn into weeks, and the weeks turn into months and during that time I start to develop feelings for Jesse. We had started to spend time together outside of our meetings in the auditorium. We were currently in my room watching Breakfast Club since Jesse had insisted that I watch it with him. I'm so focused on the movie that I miss the look that Jesse is giving me. Once the movie is over Jesse closes the computer and asks, "What did you think?" I reply, "I enjoyed it." I look over at him and see him looking at me with something in his eyes that I can't quite place. I ask, "What?" He pauses for a moment before he says, "Can I tell you something?" I say, "Of course you can." He takes a deep breath before he starts talking, "Look I really like you Y/N. I've enjoyed spending time with you and I've grown feelings for you." I stare at him speechless as he continues, "So I guess what I'm trying to say is, will you be my girlfriend?" It takes my brain a moment to process what he has said and when I do I say, "Yes." His face breaks into a huge grin and I snuggle back into his chest as we watch another movie.
