Summary: You have a nightmare and seek comfort.
Warnings: None, just fluff
Author's Note: Sorry I didn't post on Wednesday but I have started Lockwood and Co. so we'll see how this goes.
I sit up from my bed with sweat covering my body and run my fingers through my damp hair unsticking it from my forehead. I know I won't be able to go back to sleep so I get up and grab a jumper from the end of my bed as I walk across the attic and out onto the landing.
I walk down the stairs and to the kitchen to make myself some tea to try and wash away the rest of my nightmare. Once the tea is finished I head to the library and set my tea down on the table. I grab a book and settle in.
I read for about an hour before I heard a knock on the doorframe. I look up and see none other than Anthony Lockwood, his brown hair disheveled from sleep, his shirt rumpled, and sleep still in his eyes. He shuffles over to the chair and plops down in it.
He takes in my tired form and asks, "You okay?" I nod and run my hand over my face as I say, "Yeah, just a nightmare. I knew they would happen but just not this bad."
He nods before he says, "Well if you need anything just let me know." I nod and watch as he stands up and goes back to his room.
Over the next few weeks, the nightmares continue and seem to get worse and worse. There are nights that I wake up and cover my mouth with my hand to stifle my sobs. The lack of sleep is starting to get to me.
Another night, another nightmare this one the worst that I've had. I debate for a moment before getting up and making my way downstairs to Lockwood's room. I stand in front of the door unsure but I ultimately decide to go in.
I hesitantly push the door open and see Lockwood sit up from his bed. He asks in a deeper voice, "Y/N?" I whisper out, "Yeah." Before I sniffle.
I awkwardly scuff my foot on the floor before I ask, "Can I stay here with you tonight?" The room is silent and I immediately regret my question. But before I can leave he says, "Of course."
I close the door behind me and walk towards the bed. He lifts the covers and I eagerly climb under them and press myself close to him. I inhale his familiar and comforting scent instantly feeling more relaxed and calm.
During the following weeks I find myself making my way to Lockwood's room most night's if not every night and even when I don't have a nightmare. I feel myself growing closer to him and It ry to fight my feelings because I know he probably only likes me as a friend.
I laugh at something Lockwood has just said and I wipe a tear from my eye as I try to regain composure. I'm getting my breath back and I can see Lockwood smiling at me softly with something else in his eye that I can't place. I ask, "What?"
He doesn't say anything besides, "Do you trust me?" I nod before he says, "Close your eyes." I do as he says and I hear the rustling of his clothes against the sheets. The next moment I feel a pair of soft lips against mine. The kiss starts off slow and cautious before we both find a rhythm.
I open my eyes and ask, "What was that for?" He replies with a smirk, "I would think its obvious. I like you." I feel my cheeks blush a little at his forwardness and not sure what to say. I know I like him back and he looks at me expectantly and I say, "I like you too."
I watch as a grin spreads across his face and I say, "So does this mean I can come here every night and kiss you when ever I want?" He laughs before stating, "Whatever you want darling."
He pulls me into his lap and holds me close to him as he kisses the top of my head.
