Summary: Based off of some scenes from The Conjuring 2
Warnings: None. Just fluff.
Author's Note: So I just watched The Conjuring Two the other night. Freaked me out, but the couple goals of Ed and Lorraine almost made me cry, so I decided to write this. I said in Friday's posting that I would add characters from the Conjuring but I didn't expect it to be this soon. Also, you are aged up in this. S/n sibling number
I smile as the Hodgeson children run up to the house. I shiver as a chill from the cold London December air hits me, I feel someone pull me close to them and I look up and see Ed staring down at me and he says, "Come on let's go inside and get out of this cold." We walk inside and I feel my heart soar at the sight of the children hugging one another. I'd had s/n growing up and we had never been close but I would have given anything to spend more time with them. Ed leaves my side and goes to the record player to put on the copy of Blue Hawaii that he had bought. He fiddles with the machine for a few minutes before Peggy comes over and says, "I'm sorry but we've been having problems with things not working in the house." I look over and see the kids have disappointed looks on their faces but Ed says, "Well we'll have music one way or another." I watch as he looks around the room before his eyes land on a guitar in the corner of the room and he asks, "Whose guitar is that?" Margaret says, "It was our dad but he left it to me before he left." Ed grabs the guitar before sitting on the blue chair across from the couch where the kids are. He says, "I'm a little rusty so don't laugh." I look at all the kids eager faces as he begins to play Can't Help Falling in Love. Before he can start singing I start, "Wise men say, only fools rush in." I move further into the room still singing as come to a stop next to Ed and I look at the kids faces who all have smiles on them. I'm too busy looking at the kids to notice the loving look that Ed is giving me.
Once the song is over the kids disperse and I take a seat on the couch when I notice Ed is looking at me. I smile at him before asking, "What?" He replies, "Why didn't you tell me that you sing?" I shrug before saying, "It never came up." He asks, "Where did you learn?" I hesitate since my past was a touchy subject for me but I trust him so I say, "My mom always used to sing or have some form of music going so I always used to sing with her." He smiles at me as he stands up and says, "Well you need to sing more often." Before walking to the kitchen.
We had just gotten back from London and Ed was adding the Phenakistiscope to the collection. I go to the record player and smile to myself as I find the Blue Hawaii record and put it on. I start humming along to Can't Help Falling in Love, I look up and see Ed standing in the doorway. He walks over and gently takes my hand leading me to the center of the room. He places his hand on my waist and I rest my head on his chest as we sway back and forth to the music.
