Summary: You get hurt in battle and Peter gets worried about you
Warnings: Mentions of fighting and blood
Author's Note: Hey guys sorry I haven't posted in almost a week but it was the Holidays and I was spending it with family. Also, I had to get my keyboard on my laptop cleaned since I spilled pop all over it a few weeks ago. I will say though the break from writing was nice and I did get to see the new Hunger Games movie so there might be an imagine for that posted sometime soon. So without further ado let's jump in.
I stroll through the camp as the spring breeze rustles my y/h/l y/h/c. It had been so long since we'd had nice weather in Narnia but all that had changed with the arrival of the Pevensie children. I smile to myself happy to see the trees dancing in the breeze instead of stiff and rigid with snow and ice.
I make my way to the training area where I see the two Pevensie brothers moving back and forth across the grass. I watch them as the sound of metal hitting metal hits my ears. As much as I try to watch both of them my eyes stay on the oldest one. Peter.
I watch as they stop their fighting and Peter claps his brother on the back as they begin walking over in my direction. When they see me I notice Edmund nudge his brother and whisper something to him causing him to shove him.
They come to a stop in front of me and I respectfully bow my head and say, "Your presence has been requested by Oreius in the main tent to go over the battle plans for tomorrow." Peter shares a look with his brother before they both begin to follow me back to the main part of camp.
I lead them to the main tent and as soon as we're inside my eyes try to adjust to the dim lighting and I go stand in the corner as Oreius, Peter, and Edmund gather around the war table. I watch as Peter leans over the table and some of his blonde hair falls in front of his face but he ignores it.
The three of them talk for hours about the best strategy for the battle until the sun has set. Once they're sure what is going to happen Oreius sends them off to their respective tents, I leave with them and Edmund ends up walking behind me so that Peter could be next to me. We talk until we come to a stop, Peter turns to face me and says shyly, "Well this is me."
It seems neither of us wants to part from each other but Peter is the first to say something, "Would you like to come in with me?"
I nod and follow him inside, as he makes his way to where a trunk is. I'm still watching him when he says, "Uh could you turn around I kind of need to change."
I feel my cheeks flame as I turn my back, I hear the rustling of clothes until I hear, "You can turn around now." I turn around and see Peter in a loose shirt and pants, he goes to his bed and lays down on it, and motions me over to join him.
I hesitantly walk over and climb in next to him unsure of how to position myself. I didn't need to worry however since Peter pulled me close to him and flipped us on our side with his arm on my waist but within reach of his sword. Neither of us says anything and we doze off to each other's quiet breathing.
When I wake up it's still dark out but the sun will be up soon. I carefully get up not wanting to wake Peter and I head back to my tent.
The morning goes by fast and before I know it we're looking out over the chosen field of battle. I had changed into some lightweight chainmail that protected the important places while I had my sword strapped to my side sitting astride my horse. We stare out over the filed until we see movement on the horizon and we see the Witch's army approaching, neither army does anything until a horn rings clear over the field and both armies charge forward.
My horse keeps pace with Peter and we meet the witch's army at the same time. The sound of metal hitting soft flesh or grating against hard bone, or the sound of metal on metal. Bodies hit the ground before they get trampled. It isn't long before I lose sight of Peter and I focus on keeping myself alive.
The battle rages on around me and I had lost my horse a while ago and I focus on taking out the enemies in front of me. I'm so focused on what's in front of me I don't notice the person behind me until its too late. I feel a searing pain in my stomach and I look down and see a pool of blood forming over my stomach. I bring my hand up and press it against my stomach as I fall to the ground.
I look up at the sky my vision a little cloudy and my ears ringing but I can still hear the sounds of the battle around me. I lay on the ground for I don't know how long until I hear the sound of footsteps rushing towards me. I feel someone lift my head and place it in their lap and I look into the green eyes of Peter.
I am gasping for air and I focus my senses enough to hear him say, "Come on now stay with me." I'm too weak to say anything until I see another figure appear over me and I'm able to determine that it's Lucy, the littlest Pevensie. She opens something and I feel a drop of something sweet touch my lips and I stick my tongue out and swallow it.
I feel a warm sensation starting in my stomach from where the wound is and I feel my strength coming back to me. Once I have my strength back I sit up and as soon as I do Peter pulls me into him. Once he pulls away he rests his sweaty forehead against mine and says, "Don't scare me like that again." I nod against his forehead.
We're both quiet and I'm thankful we are because otherwise I never would have heard the next words out of his mouth, "I love you."
I look at him in shock before I smile at him and say, "I love you too." He pulls me into another hug and we stay like that just enjoying each others embrace.
