Newt x Reader

Summary: You're reunited with Newt in the scorch after not seeing him in a while.

Author's Note: It has been a long week for me but I have somehow managed to keep posting this week. So please enjoy this Friday post. 

The sun beats down on me as I walk through the camp. I make my way to my tent and push the flap open relieved to be out of the sun, I wipe the sweat from my forehead and change out of my dirty tank top. I look down at my necklace that had been with me since I showed up in the maze. I had been stung by a griever and had gone through the changing and therefore gotten my memory back. I had learned that I had gotten the necklace from my boyfriend Newt before he left for his own maze. I sigh and put on another tank top before laying down on my back. 

I wake up sometime later to a commotion coming from outside. I jump up and rush outside to see what's going on. I push my way through the crowd to see a group of boys approaching our camp. They come to a stop a few feet away from us and one of the boys with brown hair and hazel eyes begins talking I take him as the leader. He begins telling us how they're also from a maze and escaped W.I.C.K.E.D headquarters. We allow them into our camp and as they disperse my eyes widen as I spot a head of fluffy blonde hair. I move closer and ask cautiously, "Newt?" His head snaps around to look at me He looks me up and down before his eyes widen in recognition and he asks, "Y/N?" I nod and he immediately wraps me in a hug. I melt into the hug and I feel start to fall down my cheeks. Newt pulls away and asks, "What's wrong love?" I say, "Nothing. I just missed you is all." He smiles softly at me before asking, "Is there somewhere private we can go?" I nod and take his hand and lead him to my tent. 

We arrive at my tent and step through the flap and as soon as it's settled back into place Newt smashes his lips to mine and the force causes me to stumble back a little. The kiss is hungry and desperate both of us trying to make up for lost time. Newt pulls away from my lips for a moment to mutter in my ear, "Jump." I jump up wrapping my legs around his waist and he places his hands on the back of my thighs still kissing me. He carries me over to the bed and unceremoniously onto the bed before hovering over my body. I watch as his eyes look me over before his eyes land on my neck where the necklace is. His gaze softens and he asks, "You still have it?" I nod smiling softly, "Of course I do." Newt says, "I love you." Before leaning down and capturing his lips with mine once more. 

Later that night we're outside sitting around the fire that we had made to cook dinner. I'm sitting cuddled up into Newt's side as he has his arm around my shoulders. Newt and I are joking with the rest of the boys and I rest my head on Newt's shoulder happy and relaxed for the first time in a long time.
