After eating, I went back to the cockpit with Namjoon since he claimed to have some knowledge and suspected he knew where to activate the distress signal. Indeed, he quickly found the setting for it, and the signal started transmitting after he pressed a combination of keys.

"Now we can only hope that someone hears it," he said, and I pressed my lips together skeptically.

"You heard it just now, didn't you? Silence on every channel and frequency. We shouldn't be too far off from our route, but... if they came further east because they wanted to turn around to reach Japan, maybe... even if we were hundreds of kilometers south of there, there's a high chance that there are still interference signals from the Korean War somewhere, and then we're stuck here unless they happen to find us by chance," I pointed out, and he nodded.

"I'm afraid so... judging by the plants here, I can tell we're not near Australia or Papua New Guinea... nor the Philippines... I think we're in the Pacific," he explained his assumption, and I sighed resignedly.

"They won't search for us here... it's too far away from the departure and destination airports. We have to trust that you guys are important enough for them not to give up on finding you so easily," I said half-jokingly, and he grinned.

"Oh don't worry, Army won't let them rest until they find us," he said, also half-jokingly, but we both knew it was true and perhaps our only chance of eventually getting out of here.

"Alright then, we should take stock of how long our food will last and start searching for fresh water and fresh food," I suggested.

"Okay, you do inventory with Hobi; he needs a distraction. I'll go with the others in pairs and see what we can find. Are there any bags or baskets we could take?" he asked, and I thought for a moment. Then it occurred to me that we no longer needed the pilots' luggage, so with a guilty conscience, I opened their duffel bags and emptied them. We just needed one more bag, so I tied a shirt in a way that it became a sling bag. Since there wasn't much space in it, I tied another shirt and then retrieved the spare water canisters from the cargo hold, which were always kept for emergencies. There were four 10-liter canisters, so each team could take one, but one team could take two canisters.

"Alright, good luck," I wished him and handed him the bags. He called the others together and handed them the bags and canisters before they waved goodbye and set off.

"How can I help?" Hobi asked me, looking a bit lost as he stood beside me and looked around. He already looked much better and had color back in his face.

"Here, write down everything you find in the cargo hold on this notepad, not just food, but everything you come across. I'll go inside the plane and search through all the cabinets and write down everything there. Then we'll compare and tally everything up, okay?" I instructed him, and he nodded with a smile before getting to work. After we finished and compared everything, we divided it all into three meals, which we then divided among the eight of us. With the food alone, we could easily last for three weeks, and with the drinks, four weeks. That gave us a buffer to replenish our supplies ourselves since we didn't know how long we would be here, but my gut feeling told me it would be for a very long time...
