"Uh...Th-thank you." I stuttered, totally caught up in his gaze, but he just smiled sweetly at me and then put me back on my feet, not seeming to realize what he had done to me, which made me breathe a sigh of relief.
"Well, I've been standing there for a few minutes, stretching my arms out, because it looked very wobbly the way you were dancing around," he said with a grin and I quickly looked away so that he didn't see that he had thrown me off my stride.
"Yeah, I'm just not as trained as you are... instead of waiting to see if I fall, you could have just asked if you could help..." I grumbled, but his grin only widened.
"And miss the chance to catch you? Admit it, it was more fun this way... A little thrill doesn't hurt." he said with a chuckle and I just shook my head.
"Well... it looks like rain and I don't know about storms and stuff around here, but we should secure the plane... If we somehow lose it because it gets washed out to sea, that would be tragic and would make our lives here a lot more difficult..." I explained and he immediately became serious again.
"Ok, what do we have to do?" he wanted to know with motivation.
"The sea is easily 100m away and we're close to the forest, but we should try to push the plane to the tree line, because that's the place where there are no more waves, even in storms... apart from tsunamis. Then we should build a small dune with sand from the beach on the side facing the sea, a protective wall. And urgently attach the jet to several trees at both ends and in the middle and urgently seal the cockpit against moisture ingress, which I was just doing when you were allowed to play my personal hero here." I listed a few of the most urgent measures and he took the armor tape from my hand.
"Well, I'll do the sealing, the other stuff we can only do together anyway," he replied and then jumped onto the rock as if it was nothing, to continue my work in places I hadn't even gotten to.
"But I won't catch you if you fall off," I threatened, but only got a laugh from him.
"Don't worry, I know how to land if i fall." he chuckled and I stood there speechless for a moment... how can you answer that? So while I stood around uselessly and wondered if I could think of a quick-witted retort... which would have been too late by now anyway, Jungkook and Jin joined me and looked at what Taehyung was doing with interest.
"Good idea, Tae... I bet it's about to rain." Jin praised him and before I could say that it was my idea, Taehyung just shouted "Thanks hyung." from above and winked cheekily at me. Frustrated, I pressed my lips together and turned to the new arrivals.
"You guys went to the beach?" I asked Jungkook and he smiled cheerfully at me.
"Yes, we wrote "Help" in the sand with branches from the forest," he told me proudly and I had to smile because he looked so cute again. When the others had also woken up, we pushed the plane the last few meters to the trees, which was actually not too difficult due to the extended landing gears, and then folded them in so that it couldn't roll away, but instead extended the supports so that it was more secure. Fortunately, we were able to do all of this manually, as nothing worked in the cockpit. Then we tied everything to the thickest and most stable trees and stretched a wide tarpaulin from the wing to two trees, so that we had a kind of awning and a nice shady spot in the open, where we then placed one of the three low tables from the plane. Now we could choose whether we wanted to eat on the beach, inside or under the canopy. As it then started to rain, we decided to postpone the dune building and daily fishing, as we couldn't barbecue in the evening anyway, and instead watched one of the more than 500 movies stored on the plane. We had actually planned to watch just one a day to save on electricity and movies, but as it was raining, we decided that two would be fine today. As soon as I sat down, Jungkook sat next to me, pulled me close and put his arms around me.
"It's my turn to cuddle today." He looked at the others challengingly, but as no one seemed to complain, he laid his head contentedly on mine, which he had previously pressed onto his shoulder...
