The island looked different, which I only noticed at second glance. The bay next to the one where our plane was parked now had several jetties, one of which reached far into the sea, probably to deep water where a yacht could safely moor, while the others were closer to the beach. Inside the island, something glistened in the sun that looked like a huge solar panel sticking out of the trees. I rubbed my eyes in amazement, but the image remained the same.
"Oh my... this is... we're really back here?" Jin had joined us and looked as if he had seen a ghost. He also noticed the changes, while Hobi remained silent again and just smiled mysteriously. With slow steps, I walked to the bow, wanting to get even closer to my island, and saw Yoongi standing there with wide eyes, apparently at a loss for words, but his look said it all. His smile widened while his eyes gleamed suspiciously.
"I guess this isn't just a honeymoon... I guess we're going to have the real wedding here." Taehyung mused aloud behind me, startling me a little, but I caught myself immediately. Nevertheless, I had my hand in Yoongi's shirt, which snapped him out of his trance. He took my other hand in his and pulled me towards him.
"I can't believe it... Can you see that too? It was built here... The plane, the garden, everything looks well-kept... This place hasn't been left to its own devices for months." he remarked. My gaze wandered back to the island and then I saw it, in the distance on the hill on the other side... there were houses... several, as if it were a small village.
Woken up by our conversations, Jungkook, Jimin and Namjoon also came out and swallowed hard as they looked at the sight before us. Jungkook didn't even hide his tears, letting Jimin hug him tightly, while Namjoon now looked at Hobi.
"You knew all along, didn't you?" he asked without reproach.
"The island... we have to choose a name, it's ours... I bought it. And I've had a few changes made. " he said and I could feel how eager he was to show us everything. He had apparently been planning this for months, not telling anyone a word, just to surprise us all the more. I remembered our conversation as we sat on the beach and thought about the future, what it could be like here if we had houses, electricity and internet, not cut off from the world, but could just live in seclusion. The thought that he could really make this dream come true made my heart do somersaults. The yacht docked and we literally ran along the jetty to the beach, where we fell onto the sand laughing. I rolled happily onto Hobi, who was lying next to me, and kissed him lovingly.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you... thank you..." each thank you was followed by a kiss, which he laughed at.
"That reaction was worth it... I actually spent half my fortune on all this... so now I'm no longer the richest one here..." he said with a smile. Then he jumped up.
"Come on, there's so much more I have to show you..." he shouted and ran towards the forest. A paved path actually began there, with golf carts on either side. So now it was quicker to get from A to B on this island, good idea... We got on them and then drove along the path, not knowing exactly where it led, until we could hear the sound of the waterfall. I didn't know what to think at all, the traces of civilization here were kind of overwhelming. Yoongi, who was sitting next to me and driving the vehicle, suddenly had to slow down because Jungkook and Jin had stopped in front of us.
"Do you see what I see too, or is it a fatamorgana?" asked Jimin, who was now stopping next to us with Taehyung.
"Well... I see a huge mansion... right in the clearing next to the lake..." I commented on the sight in front of me.
"Do you want to stay back there, or are you coming in with me?" Hobi called from the very front and we immediately got moving again and drove the last few meters to the impressive property. The house blended perfectly into the landscape, the forest around it had remained intact and almost the entire clearing had been used for it. The villa had three floors and the entire roof was covered with solar reflectors, probably the most important source of electricity. The flowers that grew around the villa had not been specially planted, they were the local flowers that had always grown here, the only thing outside the house that did not belong in the landscape was the large terrace that stretched from the left side of the house to the lake. There were several seating areas and a huge BBQ grill, a shady wooden pavilion with fairy lights strung around the beams completed the picture. I was already totally enchanted, even though I hadn't even been inside. Curious, we entered after Hobi had held open the large black ebony door, which contrasted beautifully with the white house. Once inside, we were greeted by a pleasant coolness. The floor, like the wide staircase, was made of white-grey marble, the walls were just as white inside as they were outside, the furniture was also black, while cozy-looking grey carpets lay everywhere. To the right of the staircase was a modern, open kitchen with a large island in the middle, while to the left was the large living area, the center of which was taken up by a huge gray living area with lots of colorful cushions that gave the otherwise rather cool furnishings a cozy warmth. Bookshelves, which were already quite well stocked, took up an entire wall, opposite the U-shaped couch was a 2m TV mounted on the wall and in the corner, next to the patio door, stood a classy white piano.
"Hobi... you had all this done?" Yoongi asked, stroking the piano reverently.
"Well, our mothers were responsible for the interior design... the living room was your mother's and Namjoon's." he explained.
"I can believe that, if it had been my mother, there wouldn't be a TV here," Jin said with a laugh.
"Upstairs are the bedrooms, everyone has their own, but there's also a special room... the floor is completely covered with mattresses, there are pillows and blankets everywhere, I call it the snuggle room... We can even all sleep there at the same time." A dreamy smile graced his lips and my heart immediately warmed. All the rooms upstairs were cozy but tastefully decorated, the mothers had done a good job. There was also a nursery for Sora and several empty rooms that we could later fill with future children.
"Now comes the best...." Hobi prophesied mysteriously before leading us into the cellar. The first thing we saw was a dance studio with several doors leading off it.
"A professional recording studio and several small studios where we can produce and a large room for dance training." Hobi's proud grin widened.
"Isn't there a gym?" Jungkook wanted to know.
"Of course there is, you remember your tree house, all those huts you built? They're for training now. Oh and Y/N..." he took my hand and led me to the last door, behind which there were several rooms, practice rooms... equipped with everything you needed as a doctor.
"You can work here, officially as our band and island doctor." he explained as I marveled at everything, stunned.
"All this... that's far too much, just for a vacation home..." Jin remarked.
"That's not what it's supposed to be, is it? We're going to live here from now on..." said Namjoon.
"Yes, that's what we agreed with Hybe, one of the houses on the other side is a Hybe branch, we'll work from here and only fly out for performances. A seaplane I bought will arrive in a few days, and the yacht is also ours. We have satellite internet and television, as well as a small radio mast that enables cell phone coverage, we have electricity, running water, a small warehouse built like a supermarket for supplies... Houses for guests and employees aaaand... a small Starbucks branch with just one employee," Hobi listed, while our mouths continued to drop open.
"Do we have a Panda Express too?" asked Taehyung.
"A MacDonald's would be nice too." countered Jungkook.
"Let's not get carried away." Jimin laughed at the two of them.
"We should go get some rest now... Our families are coming tomorrow, we have a wedding to prepare..."
