In the shelter, we closed the shakily cobbled together door and slowly Namjoon settled down on the moss before he opened his arms and invited me to lie with him. As the shelter was only 1.30 meters high at most, it was impossible to stand in it anyway, so I hesitantly knelt at the entrance, which I had just tied shut, before lying down next to him. My head rested on his shoulder, his muscular arm wrapped around me and pulled me closer so that I could feel his vaunted chest against my back. His other hand was on my stomach and as we were both wearing shorts, we intertwined our legs to give each other warmth. It was really cozy like that, I felt safe. He was taller and more muscular, wider too, than Jimin and Taehyung, so I almost disappeared into his embrace, but it wasn't worse or better than theirs, just different. But in this situation it was just perfect, it was cozy and warm and I felt my eyes slowly falling shut.

"You know, I'm glad you're talking to me again," he said quietly when I was almost asleep.

"It's okay, it would have been a bit difficult to build us something here and treat your foot without talking to you," I replied, yawning.

"But have you forgiven me? Or are you just talking to me because of our situation?" he asked, slightly saddened.

"It's all good again, Joonie." I assured him and he sighed with relief.

"But... promise me you'll let Jin stew a little longer." I could hear the grin in his voice.

"Why is that?" I asked him in surprise.

"Well, he's sworn he won't shave until you talk to him again... do you know how funny Jin looks with a beard?" he said, chuckling, and I joined in with the idea.

"Ok, that's actually a good reason." I replied with a grin.

"Good night, Joonie." Tired, I snuggled up to him and clutched the arm I was lying on before closing my eyes.

"Good night, little one," he said, holding me a little tighter before we both fell asleep quite quickly.

Deep in the night, I woke up to cracking noises and my heart beat faster with panic. I listened anxiously, almost not daring to breathe. Was the island not uninhabited after all? Were we about to fall into the hands of some cannibal tribe? Then I realized that they would eat me first, soft meat certainly tasted better than muscle. Maybe Namjoon could scare them off, but he was injured, so fighting was certainly not an option. Then I tried to shake off the absurd thoughts again, maybe it was just an animal, a bunny or something. But the next crack was so loud, it was right in front of us and too loud for a small rabbit. Now panicked again, I tried to wake Namjoon quietly by shaking his shoulder. He opened his eyes and seemed to want to say something, but I put a finger over his mouth and then pointed outside. He nodded in understanding and then sat up quietly to listen into the night. There was another crack, followed by a crash and a cursed "Fuck."

"Jungkook?" Namjoon asked and opened the door to find Jungkook lying in front of it, having tripped over a root.

"Thank God, you're okay... why didn't you come back? We were worried." Relieved, he crawled into the shelter with us and Namjoon closed the door again.

"We couldn't go any further because Namjoon had injured himself and we didn't want to limp back at night, so we spent the night here to go back in the bright light," I explained.

"What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" asked Namjoon, looking at him a little sternly.

"The others wanted to wait until it was light to look for you... said you were capable enough to survive a night without us and it would be too dangerous to look for you in the dark... but I couldn't stand it, I didn't want to wait... so I snuck away when the others were asleep." he said, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"You do realize that you put yourself in great danger? All alone, in the dark... there are animals out there and we don't know which ones... you didn't see well here and fell down... that could have ended badly." Namjoon scolded him, but Jungkook hardly seemed to listen to him, smiling slightly at me instead.

"I'm so glad that ...you're okay." he said softly.

"We should really go to sleep now." I suggested and they both nodded. Jungkook pulled his backpack off his back, opened it and took out a woolen blanket. He had probably packed it for himself in case he had to sleep outside. We lay down again and he spread it over us, then he snuggled up to my other side and this time we fell asleep even more comfortably.
