With a large harvest in tow, we continued on our way around the island until we saw that the stream was getting wider and deeper, splitting into a delta and flowing into the sea. So we walked back a bit, where the water was still shallow and easy to cross, to get to the other side. As it was already afternoon, we knew that we wouldn't get very far today, but we didn't want to waste the five to six hours of sunshine and lose a whole day without getting any further. We were all longing for the others, I was so looking forward to seeing Jimin's face when he found out that his dream had come true and of course we all had to have a clarifying conversation. Of course, I was also particularly excited about Hobi's promise.
At some point, we could no longer walk along the beach as the rocks we kept coming across turned into a cliff that was getting higher and higher and, as we didn't want to climb... for understandable reasons that included Namjoon's fall... so we walked a long way around it through the forest, which was also hilly at this point, which made our hike a lot more strenuous. At some point, Taehyung realized that I was falling further and further behind, I didn't have their stamina, had never been in training and that was now becoming noticeable. So he stopped for a moment to wait for me and then held out his hand, which I gratefully accepted with a smile. His strength helped me to gain more momentum myself and after a short time we were at the highest point and we were finally going straight again. We carefully walked to the edge of the cliff and looked out over the sea. The view was breathtaking and in the not too distant distance, we saw other islands, some smaller, some more or less like this one. But ours was probably the biggest, otherwise the pilots would have tried to land on another one because there would have been more space on the beach.
"Are the other islands inhabited?" Jungkook wondered aloud, but Namjoon and Taehyung shook their heads.
"No, certainly not..." said Namjoon and Jungkook looked at him questioningly.
"Why not? How can we be sure?" he then wanted to know.
"Because we can't see any lights or smoke there and it's getting closer to evening, so they would have made a fire by now for dinner..." Taehyung replied instead.
"We'd better look for another place to camp tonight," Namjoon suggested and we agreed.
"But let's go down this side first so that we're close to fresh water. Look, there's a branch of the stream here too," said Jungkook, pointing to the interior of the island below us.
"Unfortunately, there's no safe place here for a campfire without risking a forest fire... that means only fruit and cold convenience food today." Namjoon remarked, earning disappointed looks.
"Should we perhaps walk a little further until we reach the sandy beach again and we can make a fire?" I asked, but the others looked skeptical.
"No, we don't know when the rocks will end and whether we'll still be close enough to the water source," Namjoon replied and I conceded defeat.
"Good, then keep going." Jungkook said, now motivated again and we followed him down the hill. Even though it was easier for me to walk now, Tae still took my hand again, which I noticed with a smile when he intertwined our fingers. It took us almost an hour to find a suitable spot and for the boys to set up the improvised tent. It started to rain lightly, which is why we retreated into the tent and ate inside. We weren't really tired yet, so we didn't want to sleep and thought about what we could play.
"Well, I'm not going to play spin the bottle with you two again." Namjoon remarked and I immediately agreed with him.
"Jin had given me the Uno game," Jungkook told me and our faces lit up. At least Uno would be fun for everyone... until someone got to draw three +4 cards.
"Do you mind if we change the rules a bit? Let's make it a bit more interesting." Taehyung said with a grin.
