starting a quest

Kiwáni woke up with a start, the curse tumbling off her lips subconsciously. Her whole body was covered in sweat, and she was somehow shivering in the warm Apollo cabin. The girl placed her hand on her forehead, to try and cool her burning headache. She rubbed at her eyes and stepped out of bed, choosing out her clothes for the day. Once properly dressed, she headed towards the bathroom.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she could see slight dark circles underneath her eyes, broadcasting to everyone her recent sleep troubles. The girl splashed some water on her face, to hopefully wake herself up enough for the coming day. As she rested her hands on the sink, trying to grapple with her nightmare, there was a knock at the door.

"Kiki, that you?" It was Lee. The girl opened the door, meeting the gaze of her older brother. He gave her a once-over, ignoring her tired appearance, and gave her a packed bag.

"It's got everything you should need. Extra clothes, money, drachmas, snacks for the road, sanitizing stuff. Look, I even put it in the lucky bag." He held up the burning sun travel bag, dangling it in front of the girl enticingly. Michael poked his head in the doorway, giving Kiwáni a wink.

"I put something in there too."

The girl groaned, but her smile never left. "Great. I'm gonna open it for snacks, and something's  gonna pop out." The three siblings stood in silence for a moment, until Lee wrapped the girl in his arms, squeezing tightly.

"Good luck out there Kiki," he whispered. She looked up at him, and saw his eyes were starting to tear up. Lee shook his head, and nodded in Michael's direction. The younger boy was showing a rare frown, and almost looked nervous.
