the night beforeKiwáni rushed to the her cabin straight after Clarisse met the oracle. As she carefully shut the cabin door, she was met by the faces of her three brothers, whom all showed various levels of concern.
"Should I even try to talk you out of this?" Lee questioned, his tone already clipped.
"I can't just not go, Clarisse picked me. Just like Percy did last year. You didn't try and stop me then."
"At least he said it out loud, in front of people. This one was more up in arms," muttered the older boy.
Michael scoffed, and flopped onto his bed. "Let her go. As much as I... dislike Clarisse, something needs to be done. Someone needs to look for the Fleece. And she, and Kiki of course, are probably the some of the only ones who could find it."
He looked at Kiwáni, and pointed menacingly in her direction. "Do NOT tell her I said that."
The daughter of Apollo held up her hands in defense, although she had a smirk wiggling its way on her face. "Cross my heart."
"You'll come back, won't you?" Will whispered, his lip wobbling slightly.
The girl's smirk dropped, and she moved to sit next to her youngest brother. She had forgotten Will had not been around for last summer, he had acclimated into camp life so smoothly. And he had gotten so good in the infirmary that she had not fully realized the boy was only ten. Kiwáni grabbed his hand, and squeezed it tight.
