The first one to move was Thalia, who piled everyone into a tow truck from down the highway. Stepping into the driver's seat, the daughter of Zeus pressed on the gas hard, and sped the group away from the junkyard.

"Sunshine, can you direct us out of here? You know are we are, right?"

"Oh. Yeah. Right." Kiwáni shuffled closer to the front seat, and squinted at the coming road signs. She pointed to the closest interstate sign. "That one. Take that one."

She did not know exactly where the group wanted to go, but she did not have the heart to ask. The daughter of Apollo collapsed back into the pickup bed, staring silently at the surrounding area that so much reminded her of home.

"It should've been me," Percy muttered, his hand gripping the figurine Bianca had given him. "I should've gone into the giant."

Kiwáni jolted at the statement, her head twisting in the direction of the son of Poseidon.

"Don't say that!" she and Grover yelled, both panicked.

Grover sniffled. "It's bad enough Annabeth is gone, and now Bianca. Do you think I could stand it if..."

"Do you think anybody else would be my best friend?"

"Percy," Kiwáni croaked out, wiping at tears she did not know were there. "You can't... you can't say stuff like that."

"I'm sorry," he mumbled, looking away from his two teary-eyed friends. His head leaned against the side of the truck.

Grover wiped under his eyes again, lightly pushing away Kiwáni's hand of comfort. "I'm okay, I'm okay."
