The longer the group rode on the boar, the more Kiwáni felt like she was dreaming. Riding the boar felt like something out of a movie, like the part in The NeverEnding Story where the main character rides on top of the dragon. Yes, her butt hurt a little because of the lack of saddle, but the wind pressing against her face was enough for the daughter of Apollo to ignore the feeling.

About an hour into their journey, the landscapes began to change. Instead of snow-covered mountaintops they had become accustomed to, the areas started to morph into something more desert-looking. It made Kiwáni's heart race in both excitement and anguish. She was getting closer to home.

They jumped off the boar's back when it stopped to drink. Crossing the road gave the daughter of Apollo the ability to view the surrounding area: a collection of boarded up houses, a run down but eye-catching taqueria, and a couple tumbleweeds floating in the wind. The girl gave a chuckle.

A few more moments of observation led Kiwáni see the ever-continuing piles of discarded junk trash in the distance. She had originally thought they were hills, considering how tall and continuous they were, but once she read the rusty sign in front of the fence surrounding the area, she realized where they were. Gila Claw, Arizona. That was only an hour or two from where she lived.

"I've heard of this place before," she mumbled. "My mom... she said it wasn't safe here. For people like us."

Grover reached into his pocket and pulled out another collection of acorns, throwing them into the dirt and sand. The nuts rolled around for a bit, but settled into position. The satyr frowned at their peculiar placement.
